Hi,
I have put the EE, EF pair as later plate 3. Not at all confident but seems to be a close guideline in NE, a dot on second E and unclear if there are Ray flaws. It is a Gloucester postmark (312)

The FK, I'm really unsure about as the blurring etc might be damage?

Any corrections, suggestions gratefully received.

Reason: "AddSpace" button used before images, as all members should click for every image. And added "air" and paragraphs and spacing to rest of post, and amended heading

Tidied up heading and post and image.

It is clearly not a Penny stamp as your heading stated.

WHAT exactly do you want to ask?

SG. 13/15aa four margin pair would be Cat. £225.

Your pair is from plate 3.

It's SG14.

Note that it cannot be SG15aa as the pair is not from plate 4.

Thanks Scott! So it is plate 3 like Asmodeus said?
What is the catalogue value of the pair?

Yes, everything else he says is correct (especially that the cat price is for four margin, which your pair is not!).

Can anyone help with plating this 1840 blue please?
I'm a bit confused as the left side of the NW square is week as in plate 1 but the NE ray flaws are short as in plate 2
The letter R looks right for plate 2 but the K does not look high enough
Thanks.

Yes, it's plate 1.

It's BK not RK but maybe that was a typo.

Many thanks Scott.

I did misread it as R, so thanks for the correction.

There's a genuine stamp in there - somewhere - just not very much of it.

Sorry to be the bearer of bad news but, this has been extensively and very crudely repaired to create an apparently complete 4 margin stamp out of a no margin heavily damaged spacefiller.

In the top right square, only the lower left ray is correct and the bottom of the stamp has been added - not just the margin but also the lower section of the letters of "Two Pence". Probably the right hand margin as well as the scrollwork seems to be missing.

I'm afraid that isn't an extensive list; just the first few things that immediately stand out.

Chris.

Agree, its an "inked in"

Scan_20210701 (18b).jpg
"Fragment of 2d blue on backing paper, and inked in"

Right and lower margin, extensively, and left margin at bottom.

"No margin two pence blue, with ink stains"

Real world value? Probably about £10 as a "spacefiller / curiosity"
(although on eBay, I've seen them ship at "full price"!!)
