Not sure if there is going to be any interest in something like that but there you go.
You can post stories and pictures of what you did today.

I took my puppy for a walk. Caught a few fish too. It was a nice long hike through the bush. Got back just in time before it was dark at 4:30PM. Not bad for this time of year.

It may be of interest to those who sometimes think , Hmm what to do with stamps I dont need/want.

Take them to your local Boot fair or equivalent venue.

I a few times a year I do so , $10 fee only , spread them out , take a few other household items etc , and hope for sales.

Today was nice , $300 for some unwanted to only 4 customers , all over in 5 hours cash sales only , no comebacks, whinges , etc, and some pleasant conversations to the odd interested geezer.

Be prepared to discount off already sharp prices and tell them the more they buy the bigger the discount and that usually gets them going for the bottom of the Wallet.

Best thing is expect poor results and then feel happy when you offload Stock , good luck as there is still the odd latent collector out there who dont do the normal ebay, dealer , stamp fair etc, but when under their noses to feel touch and smell they bite away.

You may even add to the hobby by rekindling interest , or starting a Child on the way to poverty , Whoops, I mean collecting .

Today I did 25min walk on the treadmill in rehab. Not bad for someone who was never supposed to walk again. They really need a fan in there to move the air around, I'm so exhausted.

IF the water pump is driven off the same belt best put in a new one , the drag/tension of a new belt on the bearings on a tired pump makes them leak , but maybe you knew that , and maybe the Astra in UK actually is cheap and you are in jest ?

The water pump on my astra H is separate, I am reliably informed.
The replacement kits range from £80 to £140 (+ fitting), not cheap.

Picked up my wife from the mall.
I found out from her friend who had picked her up from our house to go shopping, who then stopped by our house on her way back to her house, to notify me that my wife was trying to reach me on my cell. I looked at my cell and to my surprise it was turned off. I called my wife immediately and had to apologize. Got in the car and picked her up.

Made a pack of 100 stamps for a swap with someone from Tunisia, before leaving for work. I am a rookie collector and dont have many duplicates - so i actually added stamps in which i myself didnt have. It was a weird feeling but well thought thats the only way i could build on my collection.

What a great fish there must be lots in that river , I also noticed the fly line , what sort of flies do you use

Went to the Royal Academy London to see their Exhibition 'Painting the Modern Garden, Monet to Matisse'

well worth seeing, if can get to London.

Recommend pre-booking your ticket, but it is a great treat - for those who like Impressionist paintings

Today was somewhat typical as I drove my wife to work, mainly because she seems to struggle in getting herself out of bed and out the door. She doesn't like to park her car too far away from the door she has to use to get into the school at which she works, but in order to get a good spot she would have to leave earlier than she does. Its a catch 22 and a gotcha for me. Oh well, I can sit here at Panera Bread, drink coffee and go online for a few peaceful hours before heading home to work on stamps. Of course I'll have to pick her up at 4PM and chauffeur her to whatever store she has to stop at before heading home to have supper at a decent hour. But this is the life of a retiree who's wife is still working. I think she's jealous and wants me to cater to her. Can't put my foot down as she might redirect it into my mouth. Painful either way, eh?

Since today was my Sabbath I remained at home. My wife is visiting her 88 year old mother in MA and will be returning tomorrow, so I've been home alone the past 2 weeks. At 8:30 AM had to get up and feed our 3 cats, Brooklyn (female), Merlin, and Smishie. If you're wondering how Smishie got his name its from my wife's niece who created a book and website with that name. It stands for "stop making it so hard, its easy". You can find out more about it at www.smishie.com. My daughter even designed some adorable cartoon characters that were incorporated in the book. After feeding the cats I went back to bed and watched an action packed movie, Red, featuring well known actors Bruce Willis, John Malkovich, Morgan Freeman, Brian Cox, Richard Dreyfus, and Ernest Borgnine, among others. I've seen this movie before, but it was along time ago, so had to watch it again for any of the action I missed the last time. Some of the political intrigue might even apply to today's events, if you think about it. Then I had a brunch of 2 eggs, cottage cheese and sour cream, challah bread with cream cheese, and coffee. After that I went on line, going to the various web sites I visit and seeing if there were any important emails I should attend to out of the hundreds I get each day. I don't know about you but going through them is a PITN. Even unsubscribing doesn't stop the onslaught. So now its 7PM and time for supper. I have some turkey deli which will make a satisfying meal along with chips, pickle and a soda. After supper I intend to get to my stamp collection. That should take me to dream land at about midnight.

Am at work, but printing out driving driving directions from my home to University of Maryland. (Should be about a 4 1/2 hour drive.) My twins are planning on applying to UMD (among other universities), and so we planned a trip down there to visit the campus. We plan to leave on Sunday (booked a 1-night stay at a local Hampton Inn hotel) and have the tour on Monday, which is Columbus day. ( I will be off from work, and the kids will not miss any schoolwork, as the high school will be closed.)

Sold our house ... on Saturday. Our agent listed it mid-last Tuesday afternoon and by 1.30pm on Saturday we had two offers. An hour later we had a contract at a price that exceeded our original expectations. Four days on the market!!!

We then learned of a Tasmanian government incentive that, because we are pensioners and are downsizing and fitted another couple of criteria, we are eligible for a 50% rebate on our puchase price stamp duty .. a bonus of around $6,000!!!

A very good day ...

Cleared out a seed box (some old veg/flower seeds got loose..).

Started a letter. Posted three letters I wrote yesterday (in the right hand box of my current avatar - postboxes outside main post office in the town I live in). Read the one incoming letter received today, US global forever succulent showed postage paid for it to come to me.

Looked up my dental surgery. Turns out my dentist graduated in Romania.

Read a discord channel for a game I play. One off topic conversation was about "doing the pear tree"

was woken at approx 4:20 am by - a loud dull thump noise.
Transpires it was a sonic boom caused by 2 jet fighters breaking the sound barrier in persuit of a plane which didn't respond to radio calls. when found it turned on the transponder, problem solved, apart from much of southern England's sleep being disturbed for our safety.

quiet morning.
then took the other half to a hospital appointment - Sunday lunchtime - at the local hospital. All Ok which is good news.
home to watch footy and then a full English Roast dinner
