Waffle's 13th Free Giveaway,lucky for someone

Post by Waffle »

Inadvertently, I missed my 2nd birthday on stampboards, some 2 weeks ago. I have decided to correct this omission with another giveaway. Almost 2 weeks ago, in company with the Puffin, we attended the Geebung stamp fair. After 12 months of Covid restrictions it was a pleasure to attend an actual stamp fair.

While there i bought, at auction, a 5$ large plastic bag of Romanian stamps, some30 plus envelopes worth, containing each 50-100 stamps. There are many almost complete sets and several complete sets of stamps, often with up to 10 duplicates, of stamps that I had not come across before.

Besides adding some 4-500 stamps to my own collection, I will put up at least 4 lots of multiple stamps , to give away to stampboarders with the usual conditions of 60days membership, 60 posts and at least one free giveaway from themselves. Winners will be drawn by Random. org as usual. Good luck to all.
I prefer to collect UK, British Commonwealth esp Pacific area ( not excluding West Indies/Canada ) and Western Europe. At the bottom of my zone of interest is Eastern Europe and communist countries.

As everyone will have noticed, most are mint and C.T.O. These are only about half or even less of the available duplicates on offer- too many to scan and display. They will be divide into 4 or 5 lots. There are quite a few more incomplete sets in the bag.

Apologies Redmond, it took me a few posts to get round to answering your question. There are a few sans gum but most are mint/C.T.O..

It is actually lovely to find so many stampboarders so interested in Romanian stamps. I am ashamed that that I am not but having bought 5$ worth at the auction, I may become a collector.

nicktrang, Girisah, petri and gilloutran, you are all in the mix. Any more will be welcome.

Welcome HankMcCoy to the draw. It will be held on 10/5/21 at 10PM EDT. winners to be notified 11/5/21. Currently, as there are only 4 entrants and probably 5 prizes, all of you are well ahead in the guess who collects a pile of Romanian stamps sweepstakes. Any more for the joyride?

You have just been elected as contestant No 5 Kewinmons. As there are 5 prizes, if no-one else enters, you all get a bite of the apple. I have spent today pulling the stamps out of the duplicates bag and sorting them into approximately 5 equal lots(not all identical) but equal numerically.

There are probably enough spares left to make up 2 more prizes so if I get more interest, more prizes may be found. It depends on the entries. They will not be identical to those posted on the first post in this thread as they are on pages for the Caloundra Stamp Club Books but similar.

As so far we have 8 or 9 entrants, there will obviously a draw on 10/5/21 at 10PM in Queensland. With 5 prizes up for offer you are all in with a good chance.

To add some spice to the mix or honey to the pot, Ubobo went to the Merrimac stamp fair last Monday and came home with a large tin full of South American goodies. There were many duplicates, so each prize pack will have added 15-20 South American stamps. If this piques your interest, enter the draw before 10PM 10/5/21. My wife would love to see them off my table

Waffle's NEXT free give away will not be held until August 15th, my birthday, to give me time to accumulate some more prizes by going to another stamp fair as I become an official Government pensioner in mid August. Keep an eye open for it as it should be worthwhile. So get your entries in for this one.

On the other hand, in addition to several exchanges made here, I also distribute some stamps:

As I understand giveaways are done with no expectations of return. While distribution as used here something is received in return. Is this correct or am I out in left field so to say.

This is for clarification only :?:

Why doesn't Guilotrans (Nghia) manifest, just like you did? Waffle emphasized the word honesty twice and I understand that the rule applies to everyone, or not?
If by chance Guilotrans (Nghia) has provided some stamps for any draw on other occasions, let him express himself and accept my apologies.

PS My next giveaway will be in 3 months time on my birthday(real) 15th August. As a result of purchase from Merrimac stamp fair, I have at least 2 and possibly 3 packages of South American issues from Peru/Panama/Paraguay/Nicaragua and several other countries in duplicate to offer. Scans closer to the date. Watch this space.

Who knows what I may find as giveaways at other stamp fairs. I find them exhilarating and extremely unusually worthwhile.

Only Girish to reply now with his address which I did have at one stage but have filed it somewhere in the black hole called my stamp room. A thing of wonder to behold.

Relieved to see that it arrived. Hope you like the stamps and not too many are already in your collection.
I prefer to collect UK, British Commonwealth esp Pacific area ( not excluding West Indies/Canada ) and Western Europe. At the bottom of my zone of interest is Eastern Europe and communist countries.

Some lovely stamps there - especially the older engravings - and very few are already in my collections.
Again, many thanks.

Mainly collecting GB, working back from QEII. Often side-tracked into Japan, GB-era Hong Kong definitives, Ceylon and Australia pre-decimal.

Your letter with Romanian and Latin American stamps arrived today. Thank you very much. Many stamps that I didn´t have before.
