Why aren't definitive stamps sold on e-postoffice? Also I have noted many stamps of the current definitive series are not available freely. Can anyone help me out?
Regards!
Hi Abhishek, welcome to SB.

Valid question, I suggest tweet to India Post and see what they say..... They do respond sometimes...

Some of our members may be able to help you... fingers crossed.
Thank you sir.. Tweeted about the issue.. Hopefully will get a reply & in the meantime, hoping for someone from this forum to help/guide me.. Cheers..
To my surprise, I received a reply from the india-post from their official twitter handle stating that they would resume sale of definitive stamps once they have it in stock.. Wonder what that means, but I am happy that atleast they responded!!
Send me a PM regarding what all you require from the recent series...I have some spare and will let you know if I have them. Also, try visiting the older POs in your city, you might just be in luck and come across some scarce to find definitves.
Kindly pardon my ignorance, but i am not able to navigate myself to sending PM.. Can you please guide how to do it??

Click on the username of the person whom you want to contact which will take you to their profile. There you will find an option to send them an email. However, it is visible only if that person has enabled the contact option in the settings.

This could easily have been a commemorative stamp, would have been a nice topical.

Even a special cover would have been better than Mystamp

JI with Japan was not the same design plus not released on same day...If my memory serves right... But it is a JI..

I have seen a various WhatsApp groups the JI list is entirely wrong... As per me there is only 28 Joint issues from 1990 USSR to 2019 S.Korea

It’s overpriced- it’s for you to decide if you should collect it, was intended as a joint issue but SA never issued it as Kenneth stated

Was looking to fill my gaps and realized that the 2002 Japan issue is technically not counted as JI in some places. Want to make sure about this too
It’s overpriced- it’s for you to decide if you should collect it, was intended as a joint issue but SA never issued it as Kenneth stated
Thank you, I won’t mind adding it to the collection even if it was a withdrawn issue but considering the SA issue is at 750 and Japan at 1000, am definitely looking for buying at the right price. Any suggestions for a reliable and right priced seller please?

Seeing this being sold for INR 750 at one outlet. Is this overpriced?

why's is this Japan JI stamp going for Rs 1000 :?:

I checked my collection . I have 2 of them for my JI & Taj Mahal collection + the FDC for it.. Sorry no spares..

I might have the South Africa JI MS extra....

That price sounds reasonable since its unissued but Japan one surprises me

Well then you are sitting on a goldmine if the Japan rates are right

Am not sure why they are high. I was filling in my gaps and hence found the price

If the price sounds reasonable for SA MS then I will go ahead buy it while it is still available. I wasn’t sure and will rely on your advise since it is one of your themes too :D

Phila art (website) used to sell it for 100 or 150 per stamp i think..its out of stock in most websites except 'world wide mint'.
1000 sounds steep but I think its rare? My logic for splurging is.. These stamps will get more expensive in the future (+I hardly have contacts abroad) 😅.
I regret not buying the Cyprus-India joint issue when it cost around 500-700 inr..Its now 1500 per sheet! (600 for fdc on ebay..but never bought anything from ebay..so not very confident abt 'shopping' there :p)
Same for Mexico India JI. It was 450/500..now its 1200.
Maybe get it as a birthday present?..
I feel like a bad influence. 😕

Is it just me or are these prices sounding rather higher than normal. I’d rather spend these amounts on more rarer older material... but wonder what those would cost if this is how 2013 & 2017 JIs are priced.

I think its coming down to demand and supply. While I have put the Japan stamp purchase on hold since am not comfortable with 1k price (I would rather put it in the pool for Rs.5 KEDVII which is the cheapest pre-independence am missing currently) , like S_ummer87 pointed out there is only one seller with the item atleast in known Indian online shops.....

In my humble opinion for JIs, Japan / Slovenia should be around 200-300 while the Cyprus "MS" maybe slightly higher but still around 500

Paying anything from $10 to $15 for unissued MS is probably sounds right for the South African MS or the Coconut Research MS

I would pay similar for withdrawn Goa Tiatr MS & unissued Ranakpur temples ...

Are these even available? However they are notin the same league as the Mexico & Cyprus JIs

You should check Delecampe & Postbeeld as well for the other nations JIs in case they are competitive price wise with Indian sites
