Josto --- ALWAYS add a scan for such questions - those sites can and do vanish overnight.

The alleged CTO could be done at any PO in the country even today ... doubt it is official. Simply a light corner cancel from somewhere.

I agree with Glen.

Even as a non-specialist Commonwealth of Australia guy, it does not have that typical look of a CTO to me.

Kindest regards

Richard

Thanks Glen and Capetriangle!

That was also my thought, especially as I think it shows NI in the postmark!? But as I'm no specialist in CTOs, and as it is in a highly awarded exhibit, I just thought it might be worth the question.

Greetings

Greetings all, I'm wondering why I have only ever seen a 10/ perf OS kangaroo, in CTO??

There must be commercially used ones about, if so are they considered a rarity?

Jezza

If you own a ''Kangaroos'' ACSC your question would be easily answered. It tells us they are worth a little over double a CTO example.

They are not considered a "rarity" (except on ebay perhaps, where EVERYTHING is a "Raaaaarreeeteee'').

I have several in stock if you need one. :)

I’ve recently purchased a lot of Roos for one stamp in particular. However, on closer look of the other stamps in the lot I noticed this stamp and it’s cancellation. It looks like it could possibly be CTO (Melbourne CDS) and it also has full, but slightly toned gum.

Unfortunately, I haven’t got the lot yet as it is coming from abroad so can’t give a scan of the back but I would welcome your opinions on whether this is a CTO postmark. Thanks
CTO?
CTO?

....... it is in a highly awarded exhibit, ....

Do you lose points for having the wrong stamps in the mount?

The OS NSW and T officials are transposed.

You remind me of the 10 years old chanting ''ARE WE THERE YET?????'' in the back of the car.

Why not use some logic, WAIT until the stamp ARRIVES, and THEN you'll actually know what watermark your missing corner ''gem'' Roo is from? How's that for savvy logic??? Saves us all from squinting at the 4th grade fuzzy ebay "scans" then.

I know you ebay buyers lurch from one exciting defective ''find'' to the next, but PATIENCE IS A VIRTUE as many wise folks have said for centuries. Another week of suspense will not kill you surely? :!: :!: :!:
