You were missed on the forum for quite some time.

Each post office has it's own set of rules. Some want ID proof and some don't. It is best you meet the Postmaster and file the application. Easy process.

Yes, this was released at Mumbaipex held on 6th and 7th November in Mumbai. Only 500 made and most likely to be fully sold.

The directorate or revenue intelligence seems to be delayed - didn’t get issued yesterday and not on India posts schedule, so now we only have two issues this month - embroideries series and perfumes.
Overall I think 2019 has not been a very active year compared to 2017 etc

It's not been active as this was elections year.... Also GOI is struggling to maintain govt. in some states so dont' know which ones to release... If you read my posts from 2014 on this thread ... the current Govt. releases stamps based on elections / topics in particular states. Stamps are being used to promote Govt Policies .

Could also be that the very large number of issues in 2017 created a good amount of criticism from collectors that India Post was issuing too many items, and India Post perhaps realized they don't want to lose collector support. If I remember right many collectors of India, from India, on here said they were going to stop purchasing new issues in wake of all the 2017 items, so perhaps India Post realized might want to put the breaks on the quantity of issues to a degree (though this year the face values seem higher...more Rs 10 and higher face value stamps this year compared to 2017, so lower number but higher face value.)

Just a theory.

1 more thing... In an election year, the Govt is not sure if they are coming in power or not so they plan only for Q1 ... Q2 after the election the Govt has put so much efforts to release Gandhi stamps from other countries.. There are reports that the Indian govt via the embassies have use influence , in some cases pumped money to various postal organisations to release stamps on Gandhi.... very clear was Seychelles....

I think both your suggestions on why we have less issues are valid - those in India will have experienced the near paralysis of everything else during elections. Also per the PO staff there is a conscious effort to lessen the number of issues. For me at least ‘less is more’

100+ stamps issued for the 4th consecutive year and it seems the latter issues are simply added in high denomination to mint money from philatelists. There were only 2 instances I can count - 2009 & 2013 earlier. From my perspective, the count and especially the denomination needs to be controlled considering even for speed post or parcels these are not used unless sender specifically affixes them.

Yup more than 100 commemorative this year - but that’s the new normal, these are more collectibles than philately in the strictest sense but I guess that’s what it’s come to.
No special cover in Inpex as far as I know - everyone else here silent on it strangely. And they managed to squeeze in 3 more mystamps in the last one week, hopefully no more.

We had one new issue in last few days : directorate of revenue intelligence was finally issued bringing the total count of commemorative stamps to 108 for 2019 - total cost of these being Rs.1280/- and also a total of 20 miniature sheets costing Rs.1045/-

The three new mystamps issues are Madhya Pradesh Vidhan Sabha,
ITME Society & ASSOCHM, had earlier missed mentioning wedding greetings mystamp - that brings total mystamps to 30 for the year

I had been to the GPO here and found that they had these stamps on sale-

Directorate of Revenue Intelligence- I had the privilege of working for this organization at their Bengaluru office for 10 years. Established in 1953 primarily to gather intelligence on smuggling.

The force multiplier stamp was issued on 14th December as per the India Post calendar list. I believe the last fragrance stamps for the year in the original calendar have been pushed out

The Pune GPO insisted on selling the 5 sheetlets of Rs.1000 together or nothing at all. Even the mix sheetlet was not offered separately.

Luckily another collector bought the set and gave me 2 each for my collection
