Covid warriors stamps are not being issued by Pune philatelic bureau yet as they have not received the official communication to release the stamps from their treasury to front desk. Has any GPO Released this or is epost the only option?

Real Shame on India Post... Hence MyStamps are useless and should be avoided
https://www.indiatoday.in/india/story/kanpur-postage-stamp-p ... 2020-12-28
https://www.hindustantimes.com/cities/kanpur-postal-dept-acc ... RgieO.html
The postal department in Kanpur printed and released postage stamps of gangsters Chhota Rajan and Munna Bajrangi. Postmaster general VK Varma admitted the lapse on the part of a clerk.
“We are investigating in-house how did this happen and why the said clerk could not identify the gangsters,” he said.
Left red-faced, the postal department said its employees would be extra careful and vet the information more stringently from now on.
Around twelve stamps each of Rajan and Bajrangi were accidentally printed under the ‘My Stamp’ scheme, which was launched by the department in 2017. Under this scheme, anyone paying Rs 300 can get stamps with their photos or that of their family members printed and released.
“The stamps are like any other stamp and could be put on envelopes,” said postal department officials. The scheme is quite popular and people have been gifting these stamps to their family members and friends.
The process is now being made more comprehensive, Varma said. Now on, the clerks would vet the documents more carefully and would not make the stamps if the person was not physically present before the webcam, he added.
“As of now, only an identity card was enough; now we will ask for more details and ensure the person is present in the room,” Varma said.
In this case, someone gave the pictures claiming Rajan and Bajrangi were his relatives. Without asking for their identification papers, which is essential, the clerk released 12 stamps each with their pictures.
The form that was filled before the stamps were given had names ‘Prem Prakash Singh alias Munna Bajrangi’ and ‘Rajendra Nikhalje alias Chhota Rajan’.
Rajan is currently in a Mumbai jail and Bajrangi was murdered in Baghpat jail of western Uttar Pradesh on July 9, 2018.

Pictures of underworld don Chhota Rajan and gangster Munna Bajrangi's have been printed in postage stamps in Kanpur and this reportedly has been possible under the ‘My Stamp’ scheme which allows one to get personalised sheets of postage stamps of India Post.

Sad but it was bound to happen if they were not careful, here they don’t print the persons picture unless he/she is physically present at the post office, I’ve seen people requesting with a photo of a family member etc but they insisted on this - so it’s a matter of them following the rules.

Re: Indian Stamps - news, New Issues, and Exhibitions & Shows!
They finally released the covid stamp last week in my bureau (Kochi)!.
Anybody who feels like 2020 was an awesome year with respect to number of issues released? If my calculation is correct, just 6 mini sheets and few single stamps..total cost of 365 rupees.
(I dont collect personalised stamps).
Best part is, most of the sheets were pretty too. I loathe personality stamps and am tired of Gandhi stamps, but the Mujeeb Rahman and the white gandhi MS is just lovely!
I hope this trend repeats in 2021 too. *fingers crossed*

Yes, the issues were quite limited in number thankfully!! However, I fear India Post might try and over-compensate this year and aim for a centuryS_ummer87 wrote: ↑04 Jan 2021 16:35They finally released the covid stamp last week in my bureau (Kochi)!.

Hi DJCMH
No such things in India!! Total confusion. It was part of the new definitive series. There is no first day of issue for them, at least officially. Bureaus across the nation just release them for sale when the get it from the printers!!

There's a tweet dated 2019 by 'Better philately', where they mention about the 'newly released' tagore and kalam definitive stamps. So, guessing 2019 release?

Sure Kenneth, half of that is yours
I guess over a period of time it should be available more. I am more interested to see it on a cover used!! Hardly any one uses. I got a cover in the office with the old flycatcher Rs 50, as also one with Rukmini Devi Arundale, both of the earlier series issues.

I think there might be a issue on Netaji Subhash Chandra Bose on Jan 23rd.
125th birth anniversary, along with upcoming elections in West Bengal is the basis for my guess. Government of India has also formed a committee for celebrating 125th birth anniversary.

I think there is a rule that things which are over 100 years old cannot be taken out of India without the permission of Archaeological Survey of India.
But I am not sure if it is applicable for stamps.

Yes I’ve heard of that - but these were just 1930s stamps which don’t qualify...Stamp collector wrote: ↑20 Jan 2021 22:00I think there is a rule that things which are over 100 years old cannot be taken out of India without the permission of Archaeological Survey of India.

A postally used cover with the pictorial cancellation on the Netaji Port Blair stamps would be great, and if possible on blank postcards.Kennethsequeira wrote: ↑22 Jan 2021 19:52You want the FDC with pictorial cancelmint or used to you

Tomorrow's issue Netaji stamps won't be available for sale tomorrow at Kolkata, at least that's what the GPO lady told me
