Received today this absolutely pristine cover from Canada Stamper. It must have received TLC all along the way, as only for the postmarks, it looks like it hadn't been through the mail at all! Quite unusual, I find.
Lovely postmark too. Many thanks Jean. :D :D :D

Another great postcard from AMark to brighten up my day! Thank you :D

This PC comes from Port Williams in Kings County, Nova Scotia. Port Williams got its first pictorial postmark on 3 June 2000. According to the Port Williams website, the PM "harks back to the era of sailing ships when village folk say Port Williams was referred to as "the Biggest Little Port in the world"."

If anyone is interested in knowing when the optimal viewing conditions exist to see the Aurora Borealis, in the Northern and Southern Hemispheres, I can recommend this site:

There is another site, but that one is Canada specific.

An Post Update:

Update on International Mail to and from Ireland
11 January 2021

Widespread Covid-related restrictions and local lockdowns across the world continue to impact the distribution and delivery of international parcels and letters.
The number of international flights continues to be severely impacted by the Covid crisis, with only limited space available for international letters and parcels. As a result, many items posted in Ireland during December for delivery across the world are still in transit through airports and sea ports. Also, local delivery depots across the globe have been impacted by Covid, while some areas are also dealing with severe winter weather conditions.
An Post expects to be receiving incoming international Christmas parcels and letters for delivery in Ireland throughout January. We assure customers that we continue to deliver all international letters and parcels as soon as they are received into Ireland.

Thank you much, Jean :D

By the way, could you help read the 1st line in the pictorial part of the cancel (the other two read "for you", right?)?

And I was just about to post mine too :D

Thanks for the cover and stamps RevRed+ :D

Never seen this Deutsche Post cancellation before: Cancelled retrospectively. Very nice.

I'm glad you both liked the covers.

The slogan says "A Hug For You" in a heart symbol. And underneath "RTE Toy Show Appeal". Most of the cancels were very faint and unclear.

RTÉ = Raidió Teilifís Éireann ( Irish for Radio Television Ireland) is an Irish semi-state company and public service broadcaster headquartered in Dublin. It both produces programmes and broadcasts them on television, radio and online. The radio service began on 1 January 1926, while regular television broadcasts began on 31 December 1961, making it one of the oldest continuously operating public service broadcasters in the world. RTÉ also publishes a weekly listings and lifestyle magazine, the RTÉ Guide.

RTÉ is a statutory body, overseen by a board appointed by the Government of Ireland, with general management in the hands of the Executive Board, headed by the Director-General. RTÉ is regulated by the Broadcasting Authority of Ireland. RTÉ is financed by television licence fee and through advertising, with some of its services funded solely by advertising, while others are funded solely by the licence fee.

Radio Éireann, RTÉ's predecessor and at the time a section of the Department of Posts and Telegraphs, was one of 23 founding organisations of the European Broadcasting Union in 1950.

Every Christmas there is a Toy Show on RTE1 TV. It is a hugely popular show and is now a well established tradition.

"The Late Late Toy Show topped the box ratings again - as the most watched programme on Irish television in 2020.

According to newly released figures, the annual Christmas spectacular hosted by Ryan Tubridy, once again topped Ireland's telly ratings with an average of 1.7million viewers tuning in for the highly praised show."

APPEAL: A charity appeal launched during last night's Late Late Toy Show has raised €6.2m.

The new RTÉ charity fund, in partnership with The Community Foundation for Ireland, will be used to support children's charities and causes around the country.

All funds raised will be distributed by The Community Foundation for Ireland in 2021.

Half of the money raised will be shared among the three children's charities: Barnardos, Children's Health Foundation and Children’s Books Ireland.

The remaining 50% will be distributed as grants to charities supporting children across Ireland.

Host Ryan Tubridy said the appeal was launched "to spread the Toy Show magic across the year to children who need it most".

"Every year on the Toy Show we are inspired by children across Ireland, with stories of hope, resilience and triumph over adversity.

"In this exceptional year, we have been moved by the generosity of the children of Ireland as they have looked out for one another and those less fortunate in their communities," he told viewers.

The Community Foundation for Ireland was also the partner for RTÉ Does Comic Relief which raised just under €6 million for non-profit organisations that provide key supports for vulnerable citizens impacted by Covid-19.

The Late Late Show has also helped to raise a further €6 million for charitable causes which have been promoted this season, and last season.

I have been somewhat slack - so a special big thank you to AMark for these three postcards received recently.

They certainly highlight the range of landscapes in Canada.

First from the Kootenay National Park in British Colombia and postmarked at Victoria.

I prefer to collect UK, British Commonwealth esp Pacific area ( not excluding West Indies/Canada ) and Western Europe. At the bottom of my zone of interest is Eastern Europe and communist countries.
