Phoenix, the Capital of Arizona, on a Bernard Bilarth Capital Series Cachet.
Nice "Smokey the Bear - Remember Only you can Prevent Forest Fires". Note in the date section of the machine cancel, there is the machine reference 1A, which I am told indicates which Post Office in Phoenix that this fdc was cancelled.

Fort Defiance Arizona, the first military post in Arizona & the subject of two major Indian attacks in the 1850's. It is about 20 miles north east of Ganado.
The cover is addressed to Rev Roger Huser, who appears to be someone of note. I have over 50 JFK FDCs, type addressed, hand addressed, with cachets, & without cachets from Arizona, Illinois, Indiana, Iowa, Kansas, Kentucky, Louisiana, Michigan, Minnesota, Nebraska, New Mexico. Ohio & Texas addressed to him. I cannot imagine how he could have arranged all of them personally without the help of philatelic friends & family.

Lupton Arizona originally started as trading post. It is near Allentown near the New Mexico border.
At the last census, Lupton was recorded as having a population of zero. Makes you wonder who is running the Post Office!!

Nice machine slogan cancel "ABCD Mail for Better Business Service" on a Centennial Cachet Capital City series. Note the date stamp is larger than that of the one on the Bilarth cachet & it has 1A next to 29th May, where there is no such marking on the Bilarth cachet cover date stamp. This signifies at least a different machine & maybe a different post office as well.
