No pic necessary for this lot:

http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=231019577933
940 Austrian Shilling United Nations Vienna at 75% off Face MNH Discount Postage
Not sure if he meant 75% of face, or 75% off face, but either way it makes no difference as these have not been valid for postage since 2002.

Also, he wants US$210, so assume he's charging 75% face, that means $280 face. That means an optimistic exchange rate of 3.35 schillings/dollar.
Always on the lookout for Australian pre decimal First Day Covers.

This guy is a total dreamer, first of all theres been no schiling since 2001 because of the Euro. Second of all I know the exchange rate in 2001 for the New Zealand Dollar (In 2001 it was worth 42 US cents!!) was 7 schillings to a dollar, so about 16 to the US $

New (stamp) player in town who has picked up a few stamp terms and does not have the faintest idea what they mean - but hey these phrases look good, even though they make him look like an idiot and clearly don't mean what he thinks they mean. And eBay have him as a Top Seller!!! which really annoys me.

Image

Described as
FRANCE. 1923. 1fr claret & ol grn. MNH. Postmark Paris
Uuuummmmm.....

Priced at: USD 399 (real world value, close to nothing)

Seller: alohasurfshop

https://www.ebay.com.au/itm/FRANCE-1923-1fr-claret-ol-grn-MNH ... 20d5a4eeab

Item 141023309483.

His other items are equally hilarious and overpriced, and he has a number of clearly used stamps described as MNH and MH. He known not of what he speaks, and should stick to surfboard wax. Here is the rest of what he has in all its glory. Overpriced junk, listed 'cause he has a search engine and thinks he can read.

https://www.ebay.com.au/sch/alohasurfshop/m.html?item=1410233 ... 7675.l2562

Another item from would be stamp seller, and eBay top seller alohasurfshop who must be suffering from an excess of salt water in his nose or has sniffed too much wax. USD 499 for this one.

Image
FRANCE STAMP YVERT N° 4 SCOTT 6 " CERES 25c BLUE 1850 " MH VF EXPERTIZED Used
So it is an expertised mint hinged/used stamp. I would love to see the expert certificate for this unique classification. If so, it is a world first. Maybe somebody could ask for a scan of the certificate. And I am tempted to comment that the item he listed and scanned is perforated (not imperforate), and was not issued until 1870, but I will let that minor little point go. Oh value - zip, nada, zilch, nothing, like everything else he has offered.

https://www.ebay.com.au/itm/FRANCE-STAMP-YVERT-N-4-SCOTT-6-CE ... 1e7d83cff0

Item 130954809328

Can't resist doing one more from eBay designated top seller alohasurfshop a.k.a. Moondoggie for future reference.

Image
SI53D CHINA CHINESE ENTRY BASE 20 MINT VERY RARE
It's in upper case, so it must be true. Except, this very common stamp (he wants USD 999 for this) is used not mint. I will give alohasurfshop a slight clue - see the black markings that take up about the top third of the stamp?

These make a stamp "used" not "mint" Look these terms up in a dictionary some time. If you cannot find one, there is always something called a "Library" Hint: It's a big building with lots of books in it. Ask the Librarian to explain these big words to you.

I sometimes wonder if these guys are doing this intentionally to launder money. If this guy has Top Seller (maybe that should be top cellar) status then someone is buying from him.

I contacted the seller and asked if i could see a copy of the expert certificate and got the following reply :

"Hi there~thank you for all of your feedback. You have alerted me that I am definitely out of my realm! I inherited thousands of old stamps and obviously have no clue what I am doing,

Do you have any advice on how I can identify what all of these are? I am a single parent and also work, so my time is limited.

Thank you so much for your help!"

I considered directing them towards stampboards but not sure if I should or not in case they came across this thread and took offence!

American ebay seller ri-antique has this India revenue paper fold error buy it now for $200:

It's a nice error, but it's definitely not worth the asking price. Similar errors in large blocks sold on ebay for about $25.

Here's one from a Dreamer who refuses to have his dream shattered:

Image

https://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=281149591857

Seller alvarezstampsinc has somehow managed to identify this as "India,Barwani,SG#17,4as,MNG", in blithe disregard of the fact that the stamp is inscribed 'QUARTER ANNA', and the fact that Gibbons says of SG 17 that is perf '7 on two or three sides'.

alvarezstampsinc seems to think $US65 is a fair starting price for this stamp. I've told him/her that it's an SG 37A, cat. generously at £7.50, and provided scans of both SG 17 and SG 37A. So either alvarezstampsinc is a Class A dreamer, not be disturbed short of the end of the world, or a bit of a slimeball.

Just when really good dreamers were getting hard to find, o2ke makes his long awaited comeback for our entertainment. And his word salad descriptions are just as bizarre as ever. But this (sorry about the scan - it's the best I could do) could be yours for only AUD 7,525.00 including free postage.

Image

https://www.ebay.com.au/itm/Definate-Definitive-soft-touch-un ... 1c35bd926a

And here we have some more classic o2ke gobbledygook. Trust only the original
Definate Definitive. soft touch, unhinged IMMACULATE

Africa denomination series. White - cotton touch paper, red and blank ink.

Roman numeral use. "Described as a definite new denomination this is compared with other 1c and defiantly half cent stamps" Said to be part of a set rather than a first release, the stamp is certainly new in currency. It is immaculate and well kept.

It is a Game Wallet hobby piece item Treasure and fair as is..

A delightful, 30th Year Private Collection Celebration. This stamp is an ex-world expo display tour item. Thankyou.
No, o2ke, thank you.

The bolded part is right up their with his "pinky thumb" stamps as yet another phrase I have spent my whole life waiting for. But how to use it.....????

Norm . It is all explained in the small print .. You failed to quote the final line of his description . which makes it all clear:

I quote:
"Collector notes. " rare, indeed." Priceless are worthless to keep, but it only take one to satisfy" Saying that is it still possible to sell one all ruin"

"Ruin" indeed Who does he think is the " soft touch!" ?

Possibly. Then again, it could be that the Queen's portrait is missing from the white blobby outline.

This one from seller Nihcam on Delcampe.

Item: 181654252

He is fortunate enough to have found a number of missing colours from Australia, the only problem is they are sun fades. (Check his other listings)

This one is on offer at €149

1. Wrong Country - It's from Denmark
2. Wrong Catalogue number.
3. MUH? No, it's used

Last one from from michael2010houmam for now. My brain is starting to hurt. This one is GBP 150 . But you can look him up in all his glory here:

https://www.ebay.co.uk/sch/michael2010houmam/m.html?item=2212 ... 7675.l2562
Japan 1919 3s AIRMAIL, Sc#C2, MNH 170,000y!
I'll even give him a hint here, if he happens to read this. The "AIRMAIL" stamp has what we call an Airplane overprinted onto the stamp. An "airplane" is a thing with wings which you can see occasionally if you look up into the sky, or more frequently, go to an "Airport"

Second Hint: A used stamp is not a mint stamp.

https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Japan-1919-3s-AIRMAIL-Sc-C2-MNH-17 ... 3384e64b75

I also note that all his "listings" (if that's the word I.m groping for) are private. To protect the identity of anybody stupid enough to bid no doubt.

Perhaps it should be listed as an Air stamp "missing Airplane overprint" variety.

Oh My ! what a thread :P I was half expecting to see some of my Ebay stamps for sale !!
I admit I've stumbled into a world I know nothing about. But I feel I have taken some time to try research a stamp before putting it up for sale.
you got to admit tho its not an easy job for a beginner and knowledge its the main reason why I'm here.

I went through all your listings - mostly 99 cent stuff IIRC, and found nothing dreamer worthy at all. Definition of a dreamer from the very first post on this thread:
Why is it that otherwise normal people come across a stamp or a stamp collection and suddenly believe that they have discovered the pot of gold at the end of the rainbow?
You don't fit the definition at all.

Haa yeah no probs'
It's all 99p stuff at the moment as I'm too worried about not doing my research and things sell for way less than they should.
Wasted my 100 items a month posting a lot of common rubbish just to get a scope on things.

From earlier mentioned dreamer m1gems and for GBP 1,000

Australia 1958 Christmas 3 1/2d & 4d rare stamps

Seller assumes all responsibility for this listing.

Rare Australia stamps

Posted with eBay Mobile
Here is the "rarity" factor - numbers sold:

3½d Red 107,240,040
4d Purple 107,408,040.

Yep, over 100,000,000 of each stamp = rare. Or not.

I have contacted michael2010houmam to ask why the 15o violet appears to be a 25o blue and asking for a copy of the expert certificate. I'll post the response - in the unlikely event I get one!

Great site!

Came across this today on Ebay:

Image

It is at https://www.ebay.ca/itm/4-NEW-Stamps-10Cents-of-Boats-in-CANA ... b4d&_uhb=1.

Only $150,000. Generously, no tax and shipping is free.

This is incomprehensible.

You could buy a real boat for that price (just as vikingeck could pick up a Jag for the price of the non-error 'error' stamp above).

Maybe that's what these Dreamers are thinking they'll do with their philatelic windfall,

Perhaps they used the blank ink referred to above.

Many thanks to you all for posting this stuff - no matter how bad my day this thread always makes me laugh.

michael2010houmam's "research" capabilities know no bounds. He has found some stamps that look very vaguely like some of his kiddies krap, and decides that they are the same thing.

Here we have:
3 FRENCH LIBERATION - MEDIS #5 - MINT/NH
For anyone with enough brains to open a door, no they are plain old French stamps worth nothing. Yours for only GBP 200

https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/3-FRENCH-LIBERATION-MEDIS-5-MINT-N ... 3384f47702

This is where he found the description for the stamps he has "offered" above, so we can include the ability to see is also not one of his strengths.

-------------------------------------------------------------------
And again, from the IQ challenged one, some stamps from Cochin, which he could not find, so he just chose a non-committal description with an even more stupid price - GBP350.

(Tony, I put this one up just for you)

Yes, well, 35p would be coming it a bit strong for that lot of 'Cochim' ... unless there's an inverted watermark lurking in there somewhere :D

Thus sayeth zero eBayer slipsasdonatas. And it's his personal collection (in caps no less), as opposed to collections from the rest of us which is publicly funded by thousands of people. It also contains a whole 330 stamps. My god, it's huge.
