The Sydney Forger At It Again NOW: dawh-9130 & stampcentre

Post by traralgon3844 »

EDIT 10/7/18: The ebay Sydney Stamp Forger is now operating as: biblica99 (changed to stampcentre on 18/10/18) and dawh-9130 and a few other identities.

This identity of the Sydney forger has been quiet lately, but rayahelou-0 is up to his old tricks.

rayahelou-0 currently has a set of the New Zealand 1906 Christchurch Exhibition stamps supposedly used on piece and cancelled at the exhibition. It is listed thus:

New Zealand 1906 Christchurch Exhibition set on piece, SUPERB

Item: 113059031946

https://www.ebay.com.au/itm/113059031946
Image

Image
The cancels are obviously forged. This is how rayahelou-0 came into possession of the stamps. They weren't on piece and they weren't cancelled.

What a spiv.

The low value green was rusted, so this cretin decided to bleach it and the colour near faded away entirely as can readily be seen. Those fuzzy ZINCO cancels would fool no-one with an IQ above 10.

Report this crook.

The Sydney Forger is said by some to have become very rich from philatelic meddling over the decades.

Wouldn't it be ironical if he became even richer, selling the rights to his "story".

The book title might be: "How to become rich by illicit means, and never be called to account".

FYI

Beware:

The 2.24 PM cancel is the recorded time of the Madam Joseph forgeries (Cartwright reference #284 of forged Madam Joseph cancels) on Christchurch Exhibition stamps.

NZ Post Office "C" class cancels showing the (mail clearance) times would usually indicate:
a) hour/.00 or
b) hour/.15 or
c) hour/.30 or
d) hour/.45 followed by the relevant AM or PM

It is the same date as that shown by Cartwright.

This ratbag has just done the usual name change to try and hide his deceptions.

The Sydney Forger is now operating as: biblica99 for this identity and there are several others out there on eBay.

He currently has a Kangaroo 'Collection' up for sale at the moment.

Australian Kangaroo collection of 60 to £1 grey and some punctures all used

Item: 113142886514

https://www.ebay.com.au/itm/113142886514

biblica99 highlights the £1 Grey and 10 Shilling Kangaroos in the images, but of course the images are of poor quality.

Image

Image

Image

This is how he bought the £1 and 10 Shilling Roos. It looks as though he has added the lower right corner to the £1 and the poor quality image is or course hiding the massive tear in the 10 shilling.

Image

Image

The eBay bargain hunters will of course overlook all that and will convince themselves they have found the pot of gold.

I am amazed that the APTA hasn't provided the cops with a long affidavit and nailed this biblica99 guy. It can't be a difficult thing to do.

Few, in any people, make complaints to the cops which might kick off an investigation. With paypal protection in place those who discover they have been defrauded seek a refund from that source and leave it at that. Paypal refunds and treats it as a cost of doing business it seems.

Those who don't discover they have been ripped off live on in blissful ignorance until their stamps hit the market, possibly years later.

True, but there is usually a delay between buying and then receiving the goods to allow discovery of the fraud by the buyer, providing the opportunity to withdraw the funds.

He has run a few larger scale efforts where auction images of valuable stamps have been offered. These stamps never exist and are never mailed, as the buyers discover after a few weeks of non-delivery. By then the paypal account has been cleared out, and paypal wears the loss.

Then there's the smaller scale efforts like this one, selling faulty stamps with poor repairs. Hardly worth the bother really, and all stampboarders know to stay well clear thanks to traralgon3844's on-going oversight.

David you should work for PayPal. You have the same cloud cuckoo land logical thought processes that they have.

This guy is a con man. He has served prison terms for forging driver licences, and ID documents. He can open up new bank accounts at will. And get credit cards at will.

Do you think for a moment a credit card fake opened with a fake ID and fake address, with a limit of a few $100 he has maxed out in advance, will help paypal in ANY way, when he has scammed them for $50,000 in a week as he does regularly?

Maybe they can call you in as a consultant, to explain to them how they MIGHT in THEORY be able to defend themselves. In THEORY no-one speeds on the roads.

Maybe yes, maybe no,

Who knows it all depends on the time factor before the buyer claims a refund.

If there are still items that have been sold and not paid for, Paypal can stop withdrawals from his account.

Well biblica99 "sold" that mixed Kangaroo lot and not for a lot.

The hammer price was $95, so his shill bidders were in force.

Oddly the three high values have been relisted. Can you trust or believe anything to do with this account.

He does say "10/ and 1£ are faulty" but does not say what the faults are and uses low res images. Caveat Emptor.

Another new handle dawh-9130 in the long conga line of 50 fake ID's this forger has used on ebay.

Image

Image

https://www.ebay.com.au/itm/1913-Engraved-Penny-Red-pair-can ... 3767082593

The Barggeeeen HUNTTAR Bunnies paid $175 for 2 easily spotted fakes. One glance at the reverse will tell a blind Nun they are forged, even if they are too clueless to spot the differences facially.

Low feedback, Private Auctions and flogging fakes.

Maybe they'd like to scoop up some of dawh-9130 forged Specimen perfins as well -

https://www.ebay.com.au/sch/dawh-9130/m.html?item=253767082593&rt=nc&_trksid=p2047675.l2562

Gotta love ebay.

Don't these morons check PAST sales first - a page full of forged Specimen and OS perfins -

https://www.ebay.com.au/sch/dawh-9130/m.html?item=2537670825 ... 6732.m1684

Any doubts about the new identity dawh-9130 see below.........

The listings from dawh-9130 are full of specimen perfins and all should be avoided as they are likely to have been manufactured in Sydney circa 2018.

biblica99 is still at it. Forged Lord Howe Island Cancel

His Item: 113287902774 is listed as: 1913 5d Brown Roo With Lord Howe Island Cancel. Used On Piece

This is what you do when you have no morals and lack any sense of decency. Buy worthless damaged stamps and pass them off as something of value by adding a forged cancel.

Please compare.

You were bidding on a quite appalling amateur very fuzzy and blurry 'zinco' fake, clearly applied using a water based Woolworths ink pad, from a serial forger that a 10 year old should have spotted. A quick glance at biblica99 recent and current offerings would have a Blind Nun spot immediately he is a low end faker.

Please report this ebay forging spiv biblica99.

Folks like you are exactly why he thrives and prospers.

Of course 5d Roos do exist with GENUINE LHI cancels.

Buying them off real dealers, who can GUARANTEE veracity, does not occur as logical or wise, to all "BAAHGEEN HUNTA BUNNEES" of course.

A PRIVATE LISTING on ebay stamps section SCREAMS scammer to anyone of even average IQ, and a low feedback seller of nearly all fakes SHOULD scream twice as loud. Some folks never learn however.

https://www.ebay.com.au/itm/1913-5d-Brown-Roo-With-Lord-Howe ... 3287902774

I sold this lovely GENUINE set here recently to an astute member, who does not play Ebay Faker Roulette, that was ex Arthur Gray collection. At a REAL stamp auction they'd have got five or ten times my fair NETT price. When HE sells he will get very many times what he paid. You cannot say that about cheerfully buying fakes on ebay.

But folks can squander their money however they wish of course. Nigerian "investment" schemes, Solid Gold Rolexes for $50 the list of similar savvy 'opportunities' for you is endless.

Lord Howe Island, magic matched cancels, on set 11 x 1913 Roos!: After 40 years as a dealer, there are not many Roo things I have NEVER seen - in either in person, or in auctions etc, but this is one! 1913 First Watermark Kangaroos, complete set 11 to 1/- all with superbly struck matched strikes of the NSW era Barred cancel with LHI in centre, and not the usual numeral.

Remote LHI always had a tiny population, and cancels and covers from there always had have a cult following. The legendary Postmaster manuscript provisionals - SG 118a are cat £750 and £1,700 mint or used EACH, and on cover even more, bearing the cds seen here.

For an attractive and doubtless UNIQUE set of 12 cancels, ex Arthur Gray, this price will see them sell fast! Owner got a Ceremuga Photo Certificate for the top 5 values, who notes that the cancels are genuine, and stamps have no faults. Clean and fresh and bright and attractive and free of hinges and gunk etc.

The ebay forger has been active on LHI cancels in recent years, so the cert is VERY wise. Spectacular eye-appeal. A SINGLE of any of these is a $50 to $100 piece in isolation, all day long. $A495 (Stock 398QR)

Image
Arthur Gray sale Lot 845 in 2007 had these 10 diff 1913 Roos above, with LHI barred ovals, and a few other Roo cancels of limited consequence. The lot was invoiced there for $A3,000 and bidder was 248, Status Auctions, who like me was in the room in New York. And he would have on-sold them for a FORTUNE to the Estate I bought them off.

No, you would have kept on bidding of course, and may well have lost 3 figures - we are not silly. Luckily the wiser heads here tipped you off. You claim to be an experienced philatelist.

Only the truly clueless would have bid at all on this item, or with this seller, and only the most clueless of all bid on anything other than sniping 4 seconds out on ebay.

These spivs have 50 fake accounts and shill you to death otherwise, as they always use PRIVATE AUCTIONS so you can't see the Shill bidders lining up against you.

Have you reported him to ebay?

Of course not.

biblica99 currently has 3 lots of Shilling Lyres overprinted OS listed.
Image
I took a look at these and judged them all to be forgeries of the OS overprint. Anyone who has had a good look at a genuine OS on this issue will see that all of these are forgeries. He appears to use the same OS template that he uses on the Kingsford Smiths, Bridges and KGV stamps.

This is from one of his listings.

Spot the two matching stamps that for some reason does not have an OS overprint.

Keep up the good work, please: there are more than enough forged stamps around as it is.

I've reported them many times but eBay is deaf and blind to their role in faciliating illegal business 99.9% of the time. Still reporting, though...

Just for good measure, you can add this one to the mix. That makes 3 of the five matched as forgeries.

Image
And the other two in the lots below. So all 5 are proven forgeries.

Now has another handle as jobr_459

I purchased some too-good-to-be true Australian Copyright stamps off this seller under the biblica99 handle.

Image

All nicely centred, full gum and p11 (which at least was correct for some)

However, they have been printed as dots rather than proper litho. Genuine on the right.
Also some only exist rouletted, not perfed.

Image

Image

A fake in close-up showing the graininess.
Image

Seller is now offering an identical lot (at over double what I paid) under a new handle jobr_459. This caused me to look closely at what I'd already bought under a strong magnifier and see the deception.

https://www.ebay.com.au/itm/142983014596

Image

I guess I should feel flattered that this forger has shown some interest in my obscure corner of philately, but not really.

I asked "Ray" via ebay message about their provenance as full gum copyright stamps are hens-teeth and I received this

I purchased a huge lot of albums. Among those were some Cinderella albums and I found those in one of the album.

Yeah, right

antiquesunlimited111_1 has been mentioned on the CTO thread, but here is another offering of forged OS perfins and overprints.

Collection of 38 x Australian Official stamps used

https://www.ebay.com.au/itm/302936883243

Item: 302936883243

The OS Lyres are obvious forgeries but find one forged perfin and it tells you a lot about the rest.

la-lune-collectables aka the Sydney Forger has taken to forging South Australia Departmentals.

He bought an auction catalogue for depatmentals a while back and has obviously used the images to forge the overprints.

He has a bit to learn (and I won't be assisting here).

Suffice to conclude: he has made a whole new band of enemies in transgressing in to this field.
