Brighton & Prahran Philatelic Society Vic - December 5 Postal Auction

We are now into March & the AFL Football is 2 weeks away, so come down to Brighton for a Philatelic time before you head off to support your football team. It all happens at 80 Gardenvale Road Gardenvale, more details below.

The program for March 2020 is:

Sat 7th - 1.00pm Catalogued Auction - viewing starts at 10.30am, also viewing Friday 6th starting at 3.30pm.
Tues 10th - 7.15pm Education - Collecting KGV with Andrew Ballis.
8.15pm - Display - Ballarat Philatelic Society will display Netherlands Indies, New Guinea & Cinderellas
Tues 17th - Daytime 10.00am - 1.30pm Mini Auction & Exchange Sheets (byo lunch) & including an Education session at Noon - a repeat of the previous Tuesday's session.
Tues 24th - Uncatalogued Auction - Viewing from 6.00 pm - Auction commences at 7.30pm

Just an update to let all members know that this months meeting will continue as normal but under some conditions.

All members & guest attending Bri Phil meetings

1. Members with symptoms, poor personal hygiene, or who have recently been overseas will be respectfully asked to leave.

2. We suggest that Members with lowered immune systems should not come to Bri Phil for the time being.

3. Wash hands for 20 seconds with soap and water, when appropriate. Do not shake hands.

4. Cover your nose & mouth with handkerchief or tissue when you cough or sneeze. Or cough into your elbow.

5. Stay at home if you are sick OR have a low auto-immune system.

6. Use hand sanitizer on arrival.

Like everything else in this country this decision will be reviewed daily, so watch this space for updates.

Brighton Philatelic Society hereby cancels the next 2 Auctions on March 24th and April 4th and other uncatalogued Auctions until further notice.

Please pass this message to any other Members not on the Email or Google Groups lists or Stampboards.

A Committee Meeting on April 7th will decide what is happening about all other Meetings and the Catalogued Auction, and I will advise the outcome here.

Stampboarders are invited to a Display Meeting at 7.30pm on Tuesday, November 10th by Zoom.

Welcome back to Brighton Philatelic Society live on-line!

The subject of the night will be:

A display of ‘Mauritius Postal History’ by John Shawley FRPSV, FRPSL.

John Shawley has a comprehensive collection of nineteenth century Mauritius. He is President of the Royal PS of Victoria and a long-time member of its Expert Committee.

Stampboarders wishing to attend this meeting will need to post on this thread that they wish to attend. I will then send them the necessary link to the meeting. Attendees will be capped at 100.

It will start at 7.33pm with all attendees muted whilst John gives his presentation. It goes for 45 minutes. After his talk, our president will unmute everyone so you can ask questions. Please put up your hand to signify you wish to speak. If there is time, you can talk to each other.
