On going news . Well at last after Lockdown and no meetings since March 21, 2020, Malayan Study Group got going once again with a humdinger of a Zoom meeting yesterday afternoon Saturday 14th November.

You have to be a member to listen and watch in on our meetings. It has been recorded and will soon be in the members only part of our website. We had more members than ever watching and later taking part in discussion. Noted from America, Europe, Asia.

Our 2 speakers were Lin Yang Chen from Singapore -a complicated but excellent mathematical analysis of the holes in perfins of Straits Settlements & BMA, and then Peter Cockburn showing perfins not just on separate stamps but on may covers and in doing so giving the history of perfin machines but also the many companies and their relationships that used them in Malaya even sorting out the initials of one by finding it from a branch in Ceylon.

When I know when our next meeting will be I shall update. Membership martinsroper @gmail.com
Also Regional branches USA,Malaysia, Singapore and Australia. Stay safe .

We are in yet another Lockdown in UK- keep distance, masks and washing hands properly and often.

The great thing with Zoom is that is connecting people Internationally!

However, you seem to be one of the few Study Groups that are locking down your videos. Any reason why? Videos are a number one driver for new members!

Thanks for the reply. I disagree that many other philatelic societies lock down meetings or videos. Most do not lock down their meeting content... APS, NTSC, Winnipeg, RSC, RPSL to name some of the few. Maybe time to modernise your society? ;)
