James Bendon - "UPU Specimen Stamps Of The World - 1878–1961" Huge new Edition - 534 pages, hardbound
A massive new work - last edition was 30 years back. Covering the entire WORLD.

About 534 pages, 1,800 colour illustrations of Worldwide UPU issued Specimen stamps, CTOs and postal stationary. Superb "leather look" grained thick covers, hard bound in library buckram, with gold tooling. Superb British printed and bound quality - not the usual cheap Chinese junk, on acidic paper!

A superb and comprehensive book of Global reference. Weight near 3 kilos, all cello shrink wrapped for gift giving etc.

My long time dealer colleague James Bendon phoned me before Christmas and asked if I wanted a large carton of these, and I said yes as it was such a fabulous work, and they have arrived here, and are an essential library purchase.

I've ordered many later cartons, as they have sold so well.

James spent months liaising with Dr Geoff Kellow, ACSC Editor, on all the UPU cancels known on Australia and States and Papua etc, and this is the ONLY place all these listings and photos are found in the one place.

Read the glowing REVIEWS of the book from "Gibbons Stamp Monthly" and from the Scott Catalogue/Linns Editor Chad Snee, and others etc, etc -

https://www.oxfordbookprojects.co.uk/reviews.html

My price is $A170, lower than any other Australia dealer, and indeed far lower than you ordering direct from UK, when high UK postage is added.

James is NOT a young man, and as he said to me in his wonderfully plummy English voice - "trust me Glen, this update took me 28 years, and this will definitely be the LAST edition of these I'll be producing!"

I only have a few left from the last large carton from UK, so order NOW if you want it at this price.

When they are sold out, this type of book is the type of thing that is eternally sought by future collectors, often at several times the issue price.

James was for decades the main "go to" man for all global UPU Specimen stamps. A specialist dealer in this area, I sold him some rare pieces that came my way, including some from a South Pacific nation PO archive. He saw it "all" over 60 years or more in dealing.

The prestigious Royal Philatelic Society London has awarded it the 2017 Crawford Medal, for "the most valuable and original contribution to the study and knowledge of philately published in book form, during the past two years"

Just $US115 right now -

$A170 plus global post

Call it - "Bendon Specimens : Stock 892LR" - please order via new HTTPS encrypted SECURE site - https://tinyurl.com/GlenOrder

And please do that NOW. Too many think “I’ll do that later” and then quickly “forget”. I then lose the stamps in the rubble here, and waste an annoying hour finding them again.
Image
All payment details etc are on: https://www.tinyurl.com/GlenPay - NICE franking is used when I mail : see member pix of that franking here - https://tinyurl.com/GlenCTO - and COMBINED POSTAGE is fine - save big money buying more than 1 lot at once!

For overseas members, to find out the approx cost in YOUR currency, click here - https://www.xe.com - the $A has CRASHED lately, and for USA buyers etc, these prices are REALLY cheap in your money!

MONEY BACK GUARANTEE - don't like it - mail it back within 48 hours of receiving it. No-one ever has yet. :)

Remember, adding another lot of mine (posted by either Admin, GlenStephens or Global Administrator or ozstamps) here (or on my website https://www.glenstephens.com/rarity.html ) for sale in general adds ZERO to your shipping cost, so have a good look at what is on offer here, in case something else appeals:

And "lay-by/layaway" is always possible - email me with any queries to glen [at] glenstephens.com - OR "trade-ins" always possible! If you have a pile of surplus stuff, I may well be happy to offset that against this item, see: https://tinyurl.com/GlenBuy

As most know - I do NO fairs or shows, have NO shop, and do NOT bother with ebay or any other auctions. I buy endless bulk lots from Estates, and distress sales etc, in this massive city of 6 million, with no other real stamp buyers, and offer it here at NETT prices for fast turnover. NO "20%-25% Buyer Fees" and “3% credit card fees” to add to my NETT prices, as in auction!

Many similar mouth-watering NETT price offers are being loaded weekly onto - https://tinyurl.com/GlenRare and https://tinyurl.com/GlenSpec

All stampboards lots $A100 and under are generally mailed Unregistered and untracked at YOUR total risk, unless YOU specifically note otherwise on order form. 1000s of my transactions here for 10 years have been safe by normal post.

Orders over $100 are normally sent Registered (PO cover is to $A100 only sadly) - cost is extra $A4 local, and minimum $A16 ($US12) extra foreign, depending on weight. Only YOU know if your street or Apartment address is secure - a large packet covered in pretty stamps left outside, just might tempt passers-by? Only YOU know that, I do not. Mail contractors these days are often lazy and leave packets on top of mailboxes etc in view of public, and/or out in wet weather etc. PO Boxes are FAR safer.

"All Risk" Insurance is always possible if required as well, and is cheap at $A2 per $100 covered - and all are strongly advised to use this, and I will, unless asked not to. Full detail on all of this - https://tinyurl.com/Glen2-15 It is like Travel Insurance - decline that when booking your ticket, and THEN tell Qantas you really meant to take it 3 weeks back, and you now need to cancel your ticket for no penalty, and see how you go with THAT one!

As per stampboard convention - this lot is offered exclusively first to board members - and on no other sales venue.

For members who make a BANK TRANSFER or Money Order etc, you WILL generally get your goods faster, as it saves me some hassle - but you MUST email me the confirmation number etc - many "forget"! :)

Earlier today I quoted from Bendon's book here:

http://www.stampboards.com/viewtopic.php?f=13&t=20138&start=4462

Anyone with any interest at all in specimen cancels and distribution of stamps inwards to and outwards from the UPU must have this book.

You won't see them as low as $A170 again!
There is never time to do it right but always time to do it twice.

The 20 I bought originally came by sea, and took ages, so cost was pretty low, as I added only a modest margin on top of my wholesale price.

Just phoned James in UK, to ask what cost would be for another 5 or 10 books, and he tells me if I add another $A10 to the asking price, he will personally cover the rest of cost by AIR freight to me, (they weigh near 3 kilos each!) so I'll go ahead with that kind offer. Still a huge saving for all.

So new price $A170, and I'll have those here in a week or so I expect. Stock 892LR for the new stock.

First in, best dressed. :)

Post "SOLD" here, and we are good to go on the new stock.

Jeremy all those who ordered them have received them now I'd say.

I'll check on yours.

Am out of stock now, other than a copy a local bought and changed his mind on, and was supposed to get it back to me ASAP.

I asked him to mail to back to me 2 weeks back and he allegedly "does not trust the post" and if he does not get it back in my hands in the next 5 calendar days before I fly to the Faroes, it is his forever.

I'll pass his onto you, if it arrives in my hands in time. I'll keep you posted! :)

OK ... I still keep getting asked for these.

The $A has sunk about 10% against Sterling since I last offered these, but can work on an even finer margin, and offer at the same $A170 - WAY cheaper than you buying direct off UK of course.

Ordered a box today air-freight that just arrived. First in - best dressed. PERFECT XMAS GIFT FOR YOURSELF!

Pretty relevant to add here - just mailed these to a member here -
Image
Mandated Territory of NEW GUINEA, 1925 Village Huts full *UPU* issued CTO Archive set: 1925 Village Huts ½d to £1. SG #125-35, with UPU “RABAUL - 8 AP : 25 - NEW GUINEA” crisp CTO cancel, Ex Tunisian PO archives, still hinged onto their original archive ledger page headed “N’lle (Nouvelle) Guinée Britannique” (= British New Guinea.) Impeccable source - Corinphila Auctions Switzerland. Likely unique as a full set - have NEVER seen another, anywhere at any time.

UPU Reference distribution sheet number 4937/160. Complete UPU set, as described and illustrated in James Bendon “UPU Specimen” handbook, page 308. SG Cat £763 (=$A1,525) for normal used stamps, and easily worth twice that being UPU Specimen cancels. Clean looking group - free of usual foxing seen on anything from this region, 95 years old - $A800 (Stock 375BX)

Owning this superb James Bendon book is an ESSENTIAL. I made far more profit by using that data than the $170 the book cost me, as the seller clearly did not have that info. "Knowledge Is Power" as I regularly type! :)

Seller stated it was a part set, and was missing the 1.5d value. If you own this Bendon book, you realise this above was the COMPLETE set as distributed by UPU!
Image
I still have 2 of them in stock - in fact James was ordering something off me yesterday!

And Remember, I am instantly donating 10% of all sales of my material made here this month on stampboards - so buy something that you want and need, at the normal discounted price, and YOU still donate by doing that! 1,000s of my stamp items for sale are here - https://tinyurl.com/StampDeals
