Thursday Island Queensland postmarks specialised listing colonial perio

Post by jeremy29 »

I have created a specialised listing of the Thursday Island, Queensland, date stamps and instructional markings for the colonial period. Thursday Island lies in the Torres Strait just north of mainland Australia. It was a busy port in the late 19th and early 20th century when the Queensland mail ships passed through. If you have any earliest or latest dates or nice examples of the scarcer markings, please show them here and I will add themhttps://qlddatestamps.blogspot.com/2023/06/thursday-island.html

Thanks Jeremy

Some lovely items here Jeneralist. Thanks. Yes, the 4a is latest date and I have added it as well as the beautiful 4at strike on the BNG postcard. A stunning item. The 1916 cover is philatelic, but I will include it in my 2nd Sideface 1s census https://queensland2sideface.blogspot.com/2023/01/queensland-1-shilling-mauve-lilac.html
