Malaya Study Group Meeting Saturday 23rd September 2023 . Members` Displays

KEDAH -Philately and Postal History from Kedah in Siam until present times and all in between.

This should be a most interesting meeting as it is a very wide field and a great deal for the beginner as well as the advanced specialist. Many members are only too willing to explain its intricacies.

Time - 13.00 for start at 13.15 (1.15pm) - finish by 16.30( 4.30pm)

“Kedah” members displays, we anticipate seeing:
• a multiple of the inverted overprint on the 25c value of the M.B.E. overprint that was in the possession of the man who bought the only sheet and his descendants. Only recently come to light again and which gives us new information on the original discovery and what happened to this only sheet.
• The Dr. F.E. Wood 1922-40 new colours etc., and 1938-40 redrawn 1c & 2c collection with his original pages he printed himself.
• Japanese Occupation including kanji and Dai Nippon overprints and Revenue ‘war tax’ overprints, Postal history and some pages of Thai Occupation of Kedah.
• Other Thai era material
