The last frame of my exhibit on the postal and letter card issues of the Austro-Hungarian Empire deals with the first issues of those cards for the Levant, so I'm interested in this one.

What is the price of this and cost of delivery to Australia :?:

You could make an enquiry with them on the order form.

Jherek,

I remember a friend of mine who passed away many years ago collected Austria & Levant and had a fabulous collection of Levant markings both on Lombardy Venetia as well as Levant issue proper. I remember him mentioning that there was one mark he was chasing for decades but was never able to acquire. It was the small Rodosto cds.

Since I collect anything Constantinople related this is interesting, albeit pricey. :( I already have several publications on the Austrian Offices in the Levant. But more is better. :D

Why do we need perforations? Scissors are cheap!

It looks like an impressive volume albeit pricey.

The cover on the front is a wonderful item but not the highest recorded franking: in the legendary Jerger collection there was a 1889 registered cover paying 355 piastres!!!

Hans Smith has an excellent collection of Austrian Levant postal history. One of his treasured items is a July 1787 cover from Constantinople to London with the very rare two-line "CONSTAN:TINOPEL" postmark, the first ever postal marking to have been used on Turkish soil.

I am preparing an exhibit about the Austrian Office in Beirut.
