Very welcome, George. :D

Interesting to see the two cancellation dates. My friendly post office handstamped the cover on the 30th (the date of issue of the stamps), but the mailcentre sorting office is a day later.

I don't know if I've seen a difference before. It suggests that if I posted a letter in the postbox, it wouldn't be dealt with until the following day. Service may be slipping?

In fact, looking back on this thread at the other FDCs I posted, they are all the same.

Thank you so much George for the mint and used issue of the German Euro 2024 stamp!

Too bad he doesn't play in the German Euro squad but I think he just might be a lucky charm. He's following all the games here in Leidschendam.

I received my very own LeRoy Sane from Philexx!

2024 Germany Euro 2024 postage stamp and pint-sized LeRoy Sane!
That was considerably cheaper than the amount Bayern paid Manchester City for him!

Of course, my version is only a few inches tall!

Still, the resemblance is uncanny!

Thank you, George, for the hilarious gift and additions to both my stamp collection with the mint and used Germany Euro 2024 issue (and plastic figurines of fussball players.; yes, I have others).

Loved it! Cheers.

Finally got some spare time when I can acknowledge receiving letters from my Forums friends and express my gratitude. I do apologize for the delay, but work goes first - it's our life whether we like it or not

First is a registered letter from Philexx from Germany with a Theme It Forward item and lots of Olympic goodies (of which I only show some):

Thanks to REVRED+ for this nice Irish Ordnance Survey FDC.
I do like map stamps, and these are very nice ones.

Fortunately, the heavy, blurry slogan postmark missed the stamps. Apparently, Ireland are 'European Winners' of something. I can't make it out!

Never mind - Well Done Ireland, whatever it was!

Yes, the postcard depicts a real incident when the Russians fired at an evacuation train, the artist depicted shrapnel from the "GRAD" MLRS.

Very good service from Royal Mail - and from Dereham PO. I'm using slightly crumpled aerogrammes on packets. The choice is to remove them from he packet and keep them as a novelty, or take them off and remove the VFU stamps for a collection (or swap). I usually use older commemoratives and a few low value datamatrix definitives. The aerogramme postage is included in the total - although this one wasn't postmarked they usually are.

Huge thanks to KevinHedley whose letter has reached me after the second attempt and travelling via Poland.

It was sent first as a letter of condolences in March 2021 when my darling wife passed away but failed to go through all sticking point of the time: covid-19 restrictions and political calamities here that caused a postal embargo in some countries.

Kevin was very kind to resend it again, and I have these Olympic treasures now in my collection:

a registered letter sent from Hungary to Australia in 1957 franked with a complete Olympic set

A_Венгрия_1956_Мельбурн_КГЗП_1_av.jpg

and a first day letter of the 1956 Melbourne set:

Received with great appreciation, Kevin :)
