Be on warning for two more potential aliases of Philip Ryle

1. Theharrogatephilatelist (website)
2. belclo14 on eBay

The two are based in Harrogate with a connected postal address and currently have some shared rare GB items for sale/auction, some forged.

Theharrogatephilatelist describes themselves as ”Established in 1972 we are a long-standing and passionate GB Queen Victoria specialist Philatelist team based in the historic town of Harrogate”.

The latter belclo14 describes theselves as Belinda “selling some of my fathers belongings/ Selling on behalf of my father”.

She should be registered as a business seller for a start if she is selling her own handmade bags.

She might be using two accounts. I used a new account to dispose of a non-stamp estate, but mentioned the main account to demonstrate bona fides.

This doesn't look like Ryle to me. But whether or not it's him, there is certainly blatant shill bidding happening on several of the Ebay listings, as well as a trader illegally posing as a private seller - presumably to avoid any consumer protection laws if an item is misdescribed.

On item 374545549166 (the 1d black with fake yellow MX) the bid retraction history at the bottom of the page shows that an ID with feedback score (222) made an £1100 bid on 5 March, then retracted it a few hours later and replaced it with a bid of only £600 a few seconds later. At that point, the existing high bid was £620, made the previous day.

https://www.ebay.co.uk/bfl/viewbids/374545549166?item=374545 ... 5235.l2565

This proves that the £1100 bid was made to reveal the winning bid ; and then the lower bid of £600 was made in the knowledge that it would be a losing bid, but deliberately one increment below the highest bid to push that winner up to his maximum amount. Classic shill bidding tactics, and illegal in the UK under the Unfair Trading and Fraud Acts.

This is clear evidence that the bidder ID with score (222) is either the owner of item # 374545549166 or an associated person. No-one would otherwise make a bid which they already know is a losing one.

The same pattern is visible on other items - ID (222) has runner-up bids just below the top bid on items 374545575983 & 374545562024. I also had a look at belclo14's sold items. No surprise - the apparent shill bidder (222) appears in the bidder lists for 9 of the 10 sold items.

The final nail in the coffin is this 1d black with a distinctive postmark looking like two walking-sticks on the queen's neck ; it is on sale simultaneously both on the private seller Ebay account and on the trader Harrogate Philatelist website :

I have sent details of these illegal practices to the relevant Trading Standards team.

He/she is apparently monitoring this thread, as the website 1d black listing was taken down this morning.

And the address published on The Harrogate Philatelist website has magically changed today, to PO Box 309, Harrogate, North Yorkshire HG2 0X.

Oh my! Looks like someone has realised the game is up ... Fortunately (or UNfortunately for him) I have screenshots from before the changes.

The several-times convicted and jailed criminal fraudster Philip Ryle / Ryall is back selling on Ebay, using yet another new username - tradediscounts . Most of the older feedback is as a buyer of household goods, perhaps to build up a reasonable score before selling again ; or maybe it is another ID bought from a 3rd party.

Over 200 listings already, with seller location stated as Bristol :

Just seen this case summary online - an interesting further twist in the Ryle / Ryall narrative. He's bankrupt - hurrah! And not only does Olga Savik exist, she is (or was) Ryle's wife.

From the full case judgement :
"Before being adjudicated bankrupt, the second respondent was a dealer in stamps and related products, both on his own account and through companies. In 2012, the first respondent, who was born in the Ukraine, began working for one of the second respondent's companies. The first and second respondent later began a personal relationship and eventually married in the Ukraine."

BeCivil Case Summaries : Case summaries & legislation notes from the UK and US

Tracy Ann Taylor v. Olga Savik & Philip Ryle – County Court at Bristol – [2024] EW Misc 18 (CC)

Case Summary - Court ruling on an insolvency application involving property and alleged tainted gifts.
May 29th 2024

This case concerned an appeal by the trustee in bankruptcy of the second respondent, Philip Ryle, seeking orders related to property in the name of the first respondent, Olga Savik, alleged to have been purchased with money provided by the second respondent.

Trustee in bankruptcy sought orders related to property allegedly purchased with tainted money.
First respondent applied to dismiss the application concerning transactions at undervalue and fraud on creditors.

The court decided to stay parts of the proceedings pending the outcome of related matters.

The case involved Tracy Ann Taylor, the trustee in bankruptcy for Philip Ryle, who sought orders concerning a property registered in the name of Olga Savik. The property, known as The Grange, was alleged to have been purchased with money provided by Ryle. The trustee's application was based on the doctrine of sham, transactions at undervalue under section 339 of the Insolvency Act 1986, and fraud on creditors under section 423 of the same Act.

Olga Savik, the first respondent, made an informal application at the outset of the trial to dismiss the claims related to transactions at undervalue and fraud on creditors. The background of the case included Ryle's bankruptcy in 2017 and a restraint order made against him in 2018 under the Proceeds of Crime Act 2002 (POCA). The trustee argued that Ryle made a tainted gift to Savik, making the property subject to a restraint order, thus complicating the trustee's efforts to realize the property for creditors' benefit.

The court acknowledged that the restraint order under POCA prevented making orders under sections 339 and 423 of the Insolvency Act while the restraint order was in place. The trustee contended that the court should proceed with the application, making findings of fact and adjourning the order until the restraint order was discharged. The court considered the implications of staying the proceedings versus dismissing them outright.

In its judgment, the court referred to the principles established in previous cases, emphasizing that civil proceedings could continue alongside criminal proceedings under POCA. The court decided that it was inappropriate to proceed with matters related to transactions at undervalue and fraud on creditors, given the current restraint order. However, it allowed the sham claim to proceed, staying the other matters pending further developments in the POCA proceedings.

This decision balanced the need to avoid unnecessary legal costs and resources with the possibility of revisiting the case if circumstances changed. The court's approach aimed to ensure that the relevant issues were addressed efficiently and effectively, considering the statutory prohibitions and the potential for future changes in the restraint order status.

I interpreted it as being Ryle tried to shield the ill-gotten gains by putting them in his wife's name, and that the creditor, unable to gain redress from Ryle, was now trying to get his money back from the wife.

Some with long memories will recall his deluded fantasises about his 'employees' some years back!

Clearly a frustrated adventure writer.

Assistant / Daughter 1:

Shipping and insurance: Lin

Born in Hue near the Laos border while I was excavating the tomb of Khai Dinh.

I won her mother in a game of mah-jong which I had only learnt to play the week before.

Lin is fluent in Cantonese and Vietnamese.

You get the idea! The stories get more extreme as you progress to daughter number 4.

No doubt the tales are as genuine as the gum on the back of any of his MNH stamps.

I somehow missed all this fantasy!

I hope this seller sues me one day, and I'll get to subpeona all this Indiana Jones Circus to appear in court, to verify THEY do exist, and performed all these functions, and are who they are CLAIMED to be.

And I'll get to test their alleged fluency in Cantonese, Vietnamese, Russian and Mongolian.

Any jury would split their sides laughing!

And seeing Mr Golden-hoarde converted to Islam he states, I'll be able to ask him to recite a chapter of the Koran for the benefit of the Jury as well!

Just for the record, in case he/she removes all this fiction, can someone please take a screen capture for me of all this for the record, and confirm it?

This is verbatim what this goose has on his Ebay profile - along with glam photos of them all - of course.

About Me: golden-hoarde( 772)

Henceforth please direct your enquiries as follows:

Now that I'm getting on a bit in years, I've asked my daughters to help me with the selling of my acquisitions.

I've spent my life exploring and traveling the globe.

I've met many fascinating people and I've accumulated a vast amount that I'll have to spend the rest of my days sorting and cataloguing.

Shipping and insurance: Lin

Born in Hue near the Laos border while I was excavating the tomb of Khai Dinh.

I won her mother in a game of mah-jong which I had only learnt to play the week before. Lin is fluent in Cantonese and Vietnamese.

Descriptions: Giselle

I met Giselle's mother whilst restoring the Buddhas of Bamiyan in Afghanistan (sadly now destroyed by the Taliban), in collaboration with the the Musee Guimet, Paris. Giselle has just finished her archaeology degree at the Sorbonne in Paris.

Buying: Alyssa

Born in Ulan Bator shortly after I had finished the 3 year excavation of the tomb of Ogadei Khan (son of Ghengis).

Her mother and I returned with her along the Trans-Siberian railway, stopping at Lake Baikal and then on to Novosibirsk while I navigated the river Ob.

One night I got drunk on some kind of fermented goat's milk with 4 Khanty tribesmen. When I awoke I found myself tied up in a moss-covered hut where I spent the next 3 months.

It was minus 30 degrees outside but they fed me on dried fish and horse milk and conditions were tolerable.

After the ransom was paid we made our way to Yekaterinburg where a doctor treated me for frostbite, gangrene and scurvy.

Alyssa is fluent in Mongolian and Russian and has a masters degree in business management.

General assistant: Ann

I met her mother Anfessa just north of Syria while I was working on the Constantine Hoarde project.

She was the most beautiful woman I've ever met but from a very religious family. One hot summer's evening, at the end of the project and suffering from exhaustion, I managed to hire 2 camels and elope with Anfessa to Kahramanmaras where I converted to Islaam.

We traveled to Eregli on the Black Sea where we married and spent the next 6 months exploring the coast for excavation sites. Ann was born on the Bafra peninsula. I'm told that Anfessa's brothers are still looking for me.

Ann gives me no end of worry and I'm hoping she settles down soon. In the meantime she is helping me out and she has a passion for stamps and coins. She graduated 5 years ago in ancient history and civilisation.

He is pimping out his beloved daughter?

Remember, we found out years ago this was a Nicaraguan fisherman pic stolen off the web that Ryle claimed was his good, honest self.

Remember, we found out years ago this was a Nicaraguan fisherman pic stolen off the web that Ryle claimed was his good, honest self.
And the image of the alleged daughter resolved via image search to this person:
An Yi-xuan (Chinese: 安以軒; born 吳玟靜 on 29 September 1980), also known as Ady An, is a Taiwanese actress and singer[1] who was discovered when she was working in a coffee shop. Born on September 29, 1980, she also is known as Audrey An and Wu Wen Ching. Ady An debuted as an actress in the 2001 television drama “Marmalade Boy” but gained fame after her performance in “The Outsiders” in 2004. She then focused on breaking into Mainland China and has since appeared in many popular dramas in both China and Taiwan, including “Autumn’s Concerto,” which holds the record for one of the highest average viewerships in Taiwan.
https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Ady_An

Interestingly, no mention of Ryle in this, although...
An rarely talks about her family, but has revealed to Apple Daily that she was raised in a single-parent family. She expressed that she did not have a happy childhood. Her parents divorced when she was four, and both her parents remarried. She and her mother stopped seeing each other when she was still young, and she was raised in a strict manner by her father and stepmother. An's family is very wealthy.
Two of the other images of women there resolve to film stars and "bloggers" while the image of the woman with glasses gave no matches.

Oh, what fun!
