Thanks a million, those insect sheets are really desirable - one of the thematics that I collect.

Thanks for the extra strong backing. Yes, it really ends up as free postage when you buy from Glen

and he makes sure you get really nice stamps.

Hey Glen, parcel arrived today safe and sound. Amazing minisheets for postage. You are awesome!

Only had time for a quick look but I'm sure I'm going to be able to fill a lot of empty gaps.

So disappointed with the photo album...as I'm sure you were when you first saw it. Is there any way to

fix some of it

Maybe a quick soak and wash off??? Worth trying? Doesn't matter if not. The rest certainly makes up for it!

Going to be lots of spares especially for Australia so it will be good for the kids here. Have my "working with children" certificate (have had for a long time as a school bus driver) so that's speeded things up somewhat.

Only have to convince the principal it's a great idea

He's the only stumbling block,

Here are some full gum VFU I received today from a parcel that was sent to me by Glen.

I'll note the date on the postmark in comparison to today...... WOW!

Under 8 days for a 2+kg parcel is really outstanding!! Another record time from the posties!!

Glen, your reputation for being a slow shipper is being ruined!

Thanks for the beauty gutters! Makes it pretty easy for a guy to turn around and recoup some of the $coots spent on the shipping!

My parcel arrived here in Scotland this morning, and after reading previous posts I found my scalpel and dug out the stamp sheets from under the plastic.

Wow Glen many thanks, but one thing you gave me a FREE gift when I eventually got into the box, I bet you have been searching high and low for it in your house ......................

................ yes Glen it is the remainder of your tape reel for wrapping your packages, you better watch others don't want a similar FREE gift, well I think it is FREE I better check my bill to make sure.

Some collectors in the next generation might mistakenly believe Australia's CTO-ing office was in Castlecrag, what with the prevelance of used floating around cancelled so.

But really, why should a 'Glen franking' be considered of less value? Sure its 'philatelically used', but its correctly paying for shipment of a parcel. If Glen were a mail-order auto-parts supplier who happened to enjoy 'prettying-up' his parcels with real stamps, no-one would think twice. 8)

A Tale of Two Parcels (apologies to Dickens)

Went to the PO last week with 2 parcel notice cards.

Results: a parcel from Glen, and another from an auction house in Europe.

Sure they both look rather non-descript on the outside. Under the Customs label on Glen's though was a wad of Olympic Gold Medalists stamps in pairs and blocks, about $70 worth IIRC. Under the label on the other box was...box.

As a footnote, the interesting travels of a humble cardboard box. On the side of the box it said the original contents were a book/brochure printed in Hong Kong about PNG. There was an old mailing label on the box from Rabaul to Glen. So the box went HK-PNG; PNG-SYD; SYD-HK. Then here it is ignobly sitting in the hallway awaiting the "cardboard lady" (many old people here collect recycling to supplement their pension).

Whenever I place an order with Glen, I am looking forward to his always fine choice of stamps he will hide under the address label!

I adopted a similar system with my PO, who lets me cancel the stamps, which I then enclose in a envelope into the parcels.

They then stamp the parcel POSTAGE PAID , fill out a form which goes on the outside of the parcel also.

The receivers which are friends and family of me in Europe, can not believe, that this would be possible

This arrived today, thrown into my porch by the postie (because it was raining heavily and he couldn't put it through the letter box even if he tried).

It was a lucky thing that my dog did not decide to open up the package for me but I found him sitting beside it when I came home today (nobody else was in the house at that time).

Here is the envelope in all its glory - Glen, thanks for the lovely miniature sheets/sheetlets - I collect these as part of my thematics.

The Canada $10 whale cover that came inside the package was simply amazing - never saw stamps that size (5 inches by almost 2 inches) - really awesome.

Yes Norm's cricket stamps matched his avatar!

Face was $16.20 as can be seen.

Perfect to cover cost of a stockbook of stuff mailed interstate.

HOWEVER these are SG 647a and 652 - SG cat of these stamps used is £47.

Being full gum, and the popular CRICKET topical, and gutter pieces, re-sale value is WAY above $16.20.

Indeed if he offered them for sale here he'd get around twice his shipping cost.

So not just free shipping, but shipping as a profit centre!

I got a package, yipee!!

And I surgically removed a treasure from behind the label. I can only show half of it here though, because it's way too big for my scanner!

It is a full CTO sheet 100 with a gutter down the middle, with precision Castle Crag cancels. Not a ripple in it!

And this was hanging out and got a tiny bit rumpled, but nothing major. I kinda cringed when I saw what is was, since as a used single one of these sneaky stamps had me fooled! Thanks for the reminder Glen!

And these freebie beauties below made me forget all about being forgotten about!

Along with a couple other sheets of similar that I don't have time to scan right now.

I am wearing an itsy-bitsy sterling stamp case on a chain around my neck as we speak and have already received several compliments. (They are both beautiful but I like the one shaped like a suitcase better than the book).

Kris had been very patient with my slackness, so thought a few added extras were in order.

She is the artistic one among us, as we have seen by her superb hand painted FDC's.

This sheet 100 was not only colourful, but depicted the works of some of Australia's best known illustrators, so thought she would like it.

The sheet of 100 as noted in pencil at left is SG Cat £65 as used strips, so for a $35 franking, is another classic example of "Free Global Registered Postage"!

One of the illustrations - "The Magic Pudding" stamp is by Normal Lindsay, arguably Australia's finest ever all round artist. (And certainly the most controversial!)

Lindsay was a master of pen and ink, caricatures, watercolours, oils, and etched copper engraving - for starters.

I have several of his paintings at home here. This is one of my subtle, discreet, Norman Lindsay large watercolours!
