I have some Tripura material, but not for sale (sorry). Tripura is not an easy state and rarely offered on eBay or other sites. Anyway, I wish you luck pursuing them. :D

Yeah, you are right. Last time showed up in ebay was mid Dec 2010.
Btw, have you seen or do you have Tripura stamps in a used condition? I am yet to see one used.

Well, my search for Tripura continues... can anyone still help?

I guess the used examples of the Tripura revenue stamp is much more rarer than the mint ones. Am I right in that assumption?

What can be the approximate cost of the used example, if I get to find one?

I even went to Tripura, but didn't find any such stamp.

I would expect price for used Tripura revenue stamps, above 20 USD.

Nevertheless, do you have some reason for getting revenue stamps from this hard to find state?

There are many other Indian states, where you can build a reasonable collection in few years.

I recently managed to get some nice essays for the stamped papers series, for a good price.

Reason 1. I am fascinated by North Eastern India, and the unexplored philately of the region.

Reason 2. Just like Indiana Jones goes for Crystal skulls rather than normal ones, I am allured by this hard to find state.

The Coat of Arms design of Tripura Kingdom looks very similar to the design of the Cooch Behar state fiscals without the portrait. Maybe designed by same L.V Indap.

No, its a revenue stamp. Guess it has been unlisted in K-M.
The mention of this revenue stamp is there in the Tripura State Gazette.
Furthermore the later stamps of Tripura were printed in Security Press at Nasik due to the shortage of paper.

Yes Ikanek,

This and much more info also. Its is pure Bengali, so I am translating it and will then compile.

It also says that the later stamps were numbered in the selvage , to keep a track of the numbers sold. These were those printed at Government Security press.

This is the information out of the excerpt of the Tripura Gazette, talking about this fiscal stamp . Its in Bengali ( obviously) and translates as follows:

Memo No 7

As per the order dated 5/6/41 of Sri Sri Maharaja Manikya Bahadur a new One Anna fiscal stamp is being issued. This stamp is of a smaller size than the recent fiscal stamps and its colour is pale purple.

Henceforth, this new stamp will be used in the State, and will be used till its stock lasts in lieu of the current stamps being used in the state. However the current stamps already being used will be honoured in all documents also.

Aranyadc, yes these are the unlisted series of Tripura. At least two of them and one additional is known, bearing the coat-fo-arms. I am sorry, but I have not scanned it and no good scan is therefore available.

Anyway, you seem to locate some used copies as well as stamped papers. :D

The used fiscals belongs to me , yes. But, to clarify, the stamp paper cut outs I have clicked photos from the wall exhibits at Tripura Castle, Shillong which was the summer retreat of the Maharaja and now leased to a hotel group. They have labelled it as currency of Tripura

Also I found the relevant mention of these stamp papers in the Tripura Gazette.

Here is the unwanted transliteration and translation of the Bangla inscriptions.
