Wacky responses to ebay "Ask the Seller a Question"

Post by The Pom »

A few recent gems I've received:

My Question: "Could you send me a larger scan of this stamp lease?"
Helpful Reply: "Right click over the image, save it, open with Windows Picture Viewer and enlarge to as big as you want"
Oh great - a big blurred image.

My Question: "Can you make out the date of cancellation on this cover?"
Helpful reply: "Yes, you can just about make it out"
Thanks, very good.

To someone selling a perfectly ordinary 2d Bridge, claiming that it is the rare postal forgery, CV $1250.
My Question: "Can you tell me why you think this is the forgery, rather than the genuine stamp?"
Helpful reply "This is not a chat room"
Uh, OK....

I'll add one.

Me: Can you please tell me why this cover is listed at $49. It seems to be the standard cover. Is there a backstamp or something else that should be in the description?

Answer: I don't "do" stamps. Make your own mind up.

Ta very much.

A recent question from a buyer:

Question - "Do you have any other stamps I might like?"

Answer - "I don't know, what sort of stamps do you like?"

Another one to file under "Thanks, very helpful".

Me: "Hi, is that a crease, or a tear, by the top left corner?"

Them: "Yes, it is".

Ta.

For those who trade on Ebay, IQ tests would be a good idea - but it would deprive me of so much pleasure
