Went to the nearest sub post office (Called phila bureau - nobody picked up the call..so not sure). It was open, they let me post cards to 3 different places within India. Returned 2 mails I wanted to send to France and Finland. Said international mail is suspended.

Visited the Local philatelic bureau today. Could not get the Jamshedpur/UNESCO issues from March. They had just reopened after 3 months and the UNESCO issues have not even reached them yet. Just got few fashion Leftover stamps

Will there be an issue for the current border situation with China? On that note, was there anything issued for the war of 1962?

For fans of JIs shouldn’t the below count as one? Or does it have to have official sanction & mention that it’s a JI? It’s the same event and both countries were working to get it done... so JI?

I bought one single MNH stamp couple of years ago for 1000 just to fill the gap
However the right hand 4 stamps appear to have a crease so hopefully he is not referring to only that for 600

Thanks for the confirmation on the new issues.
After reading what Joy had posted I had similar thoughts - what if the value to the sheet goes down as they slowly sell these...
normal market price is around 1000 rupees per stamp some greedy ones on eBay are asking for 2k also.

It is also in the news that India Post is going to issue a commemorative stamp on P. V. Narasimha Rao,
Former Prime Minister of India. He had been the Prime Minister from 1991 to 1996. The government's decision comes a day after his 99th birth anniversary.

Just curious if there is a reason this set is expensive to get? It’s pricy compared to the others from it’s time.... was just wondering why.

Re: Indian Stamps - news, New Issues, and Exhibitions & Shows!
You are welcome. Yes! It's a nice sheet, I really like the design of the postal one esp.Hyderabadi wrote: ↑10 Jul 2020 21:04Thanks for the image S_ummer87, the sheet actually looks good... looking forward to it being released. Looks like they going slow (thank god) with new releases.

As far as I know, there are 4 colour variations of the 'fashion I' series..I came across all of it by chance. The colour of the stamps seems more or less same (2 types of stamp colours..one is highly saturated and the other normal)..but there are 4 different background color variation.
The ones I know are:
2. Solar system, one has really nice dark colour plus clear print and fonts are legible, the other is a washed out looking blackish colour with terrible print quality. (Awful experience swapping it - this made me realise about these kinds of variations). Note the "2018" and "neptune" of the ugly MS..

3. Fashion III, 2 shades of background. Didnt come across any wrt Fashion II and IV.....yet.
4. Ramayana (green) has different shades one darker than the other - although I haven't seen them.
5. 2 different shades of red ramayana sheets, one is red, other reddish brown. One has a clear, sharp image, other is blurred.
6. Historical gates one is dark brown, the other is light brown.

Yup all sorts of covers - thankfully i don’t collect them. I have a love hate collecting relationship with ‘my stamps’ - they are valid for postal use that’s the only reason to collect them but they are so many of them with such ridiculous themes sometimes, and they are soo expensive!S_ummer87 wrote: ↑12 Jul 2020 18:15

Also the color variation you are seeing in the Ramayana sheet & the fashion sheet must be due to the Nasik vs Hyderabad printing, they seem to have difference & it’s been discussed before On this thread. Not sure if they are worthy of collecting as a variety... else soon we will have to have two of everything issued

I got two - one from the Uk which had been posted in mid June, so not too late. Thankfully it was canceled but had basic machins on it.
The second one was from Italy posted at the end of March at the height of the pandemic there, it has a Italian cancel but none from india. It must have been sitting either in Italy or somewhere in india all these months & finally got delivered. Too bad they don’t put a label saying ‘sanitized’ or something like that, that would be worth keeping just to remember.

The special postmark from Goa is going to be only this month, I read somewhere. Mail a speed post to yourself, will be a good collectible.

Any idea if Goa still has 2019 stamps available in GPO?
