I see content from the board and specifically this thread is being used by other to highlight foreries.

The page in the link below uses a number of images I have posted showing examples of forged South Australia Departmentals.

http://stampforgeries.com/forged-stamps-of-south-australia/#top

This site appears to be run by Morten Munck, Denmark. Fortunately he names the ebay identities of the Sydney forger.

Some of Stampboards images on this page as well: http://stampforgeries.com/forged-stamps-of-australia/

Very convincing proof, thanks traralgon3844!

I presume it's also possible to determine that the G.P. has been
applied over the postmark, though I've never been confident
that I could discriminate such detail. How do the experts actually
decide whether an overprint lies above or below a cancellation?

Essentially that item is now a "good stamp ruined", though I suppose a
forgery collector would still want it, and also some cinderella collectors
who admit forgeries into their "not real postage stamps" collection. :D
Chacun à son goût.

He left a few perf holes on the bottom of that last one. I guess the bottom margin wasn't quite big enough to fully snip it without getting too close to the design.

More convincing "before and after" proof, thanks traralgon3844!
By the way, the "before" stamp appears to have a scuff below the
queen's neck, but that has miraculously disappeared in the "after".

Can you offer any information re my query about certain detection
that an overprint has been applied on top of a postmark (and is
therefore a forgery)?

Keep complaining to Ebay about this person.Pathway to to do so is

Help
Resolving issues with seller
Avoiding seller fraud
Report an issue
Report a seller
Seller has violated one of Ebay's policies.

My report on starcollectables was as follows

This seller is a criminal and is repeatedly selling high priced and fake stamps under Australian States stamps.
The huge number of fake high priced fake stamps this person has been selling needs more than banning by Ebay. The level of criminal activity is so high Ebay needs to report this to the NSW police where this person lives.
Ebay will lose with this person as he will destroy people's confidence in buying on Ebay.
He lists under the following usernames

antiques unlimited

antiquesunlimited111_1

La_Lune_Collectables

Star Collectables

stamp_37

clonstamps

stampcentre

biblica99

strampsdownunder

stamps_lovers101

Full details of his crimes which are extensive are here

https://www.stampboards.com/viewtopic.php?f=21&t=85476

As said at the start this person is going to seriously damage Ebay's sales in stamps as people will lose confidence.

I tried to also report this person to Crime Stoppers SA but they just told me to list it on Scamwatch which is not
workable if you are not a victim and requires details such a email, phone number etc of the scammer.

I tried also reporting to Crime Stoppers NSW but in their reply they stated that they do not deal with online reports and would follow up only if I was a victim and reported it to a police station in NSW in person. The next problem is there is a minimum level of fraud which I know was once $1000 before police will act so apart from hammering away as a group with Ebay I cannot see what else to do.

Message simple Traralgon 3844.Be extremely suspicious of any stamps offered on Ebay and buy none until they clean up their act. Used to live at 64 Gilmore St and work at the old Hotham St Medical clinic.
I prefer to collect UK, British Commonwealth esp Pacific area ( not excluding West Indies/Canada ) and Western Europe. At the bottom of my zone of interest is Eastern Europe and communist countries.

The Sydney forger does not even try to hide his shill bidding other than using private auctions.

Shill them up and buy them yourself one day and relist them the same day. I have seen this a number of times recently.

This lot from la-lune-collectables

Shill sales lalune.png
Sold at auction and then relisted for a higher amount as a buy it now within 20 minutes.

Shill sales lalune relist.png
PS: The Papua New Guinea Postal Charges will be a forged overprint. He sells lots and should not be purchased without a certificate IMHO.

Thanks traralgon3844 for your continued vigilance.

The clear before-and-after demonstrations of the fakery involved are surely enough for responsible action by eBay rep Edwin J.

There must surely be responsible decision-makers somewhere in the system who can ensure that the appropriate actions are taken...

I have been amazed for years that people will buy an easily identfiable stamp online, alter it, and reoffer it in the same venue. The "Saratoga Ring" specialized in doing this with US stamps, maybe 15 years ago; that's where I became aware of it as an ongoing trend with some sellers.

Gives me that "You really think we're that stupid?" feeling...

And that response is the normal copy and paste formula that they ALWAYS send you. Its a thanks but we'll probably do nothing. Its not even an admission of the blatant fakery when they're staring at the evidence. Years and years of the same lame, bland, nothing will be done answers.

And yet they throw in your face "Keeping eBay a safe marketplace for both our sellers and buyers is one of our top priorities. Please be assure that eBay is the safe place for online shopping.", when it's not! Its a constant rabbit trap that you have to navigate to find what you want.

If it really was a priority... they'd DO SOMETHING about it.

Our buyers paid over $900 too much for this forged junk.

Is the way to bring the activities of this crook to the attention of the Ebay bunnies, to have members of stampboards who sell on Ebay, to advertise their membership in their listings, and to have some kind of "link" to a thread like this in their listings?

If it violates any Ebay policy (not sure it does) it will be interesting to see how quickly the Ebay police are on the case.

The Tasmania 4d orange is really stalling at $38 with 1+ day to go.

The Greek forger will be ramping this up with shill bids in the hope that one bunny gets stuck with it at a high price.

Fake Tasmania 4d screenshot for the record.

The is no guarantee that this sold to a really bunny buyer of course. Luck is all part of the shill bidding game. 8 Bidders with 10 Bids allegedly. Sounds like The Greek hitting it with his multiple accounts.

strampsdownunder's feedback was 108 at the time this sold. Look for "108" in the feedback of his ebay accounts over the coming period of time.

Others are waiting for an existing South Australian department (CP or P or both)
to arrive at his door with warrant. ;)

No. The Greek only fakes existing Departments as that gives plausibility to the whole ruse.

Just wondering, after all the negative publicity about this guy and company, why the blue hell are idiots out there still wasting good money on bad product? Is insanity infectious? After reading the implications of this thread and several others, I do not think that I would buy anything from Ebay at all!
I prefer to collect UK, British Commonwealth esp Pacific area ( not excluding West Indies/Canada ) and Western Europe. At the bottom of my zone of interest is Eastern Europe and communist countries.

It's one of those eternal mysteries, why people buy expensive collectibles without knowing what they are doing, how to recognize fakes, etc.

Here is another modern laser-printed fake. Tasmania 4d Orange imperforate pair with fake "60" postmark.

Is this a new ebay ID for The Greek Forger? - jessalice2. Note location as "Monash". Or is this an ebay bunny trying to flip their purchase from The Greek? (jessalice2 has been selling postmarks on ebay for years and should know this is fake - No Excuses): https://stampboards.com/viewtopic.php?f=65&t=15930&start=350

Ebay Item: 174385804018
Seller: jessalice2
Buy it Now: AUD $250
Listed: 8 or 9 Aug 2020

I'm guessing it's a flip. She has been on eBay 18 years, and this doesn't seem to be the usual sort of thing she sells.
