Rumors on WhatsApp & Twitter on Joint issue with Bangladesh.
50 years of Bangladesh coming up soon so yes there should be something given the background...
Possible, there was also a Gandhi issue that was supposed to be released but has been postponed multiple times due to Modi's cancelled visit to Dhaka & then the COVID- 19

A set of 2 India–Deutschland Joint Issue se-tenant stamps were planned to be released in 2005 and failing that, in 2006.

The stamps were never released, though proofs were printed in India Security Press.

No. Publication of the images of proofs and color trials of postage stamps issued by India Post is prohibited in India.
No RTI is entertained in this regard.

Agree but sometimes not all Diplomatic relation stamp issues turn out to be Joint issues like the ones with Peru, South Africa, Oman, Brazil, Bhutan, Georgia, Mauritius & Columbia all were unilateral

Re: Proposed Indian Stamps on Akshaykumar Datta (1820–1886) and Ishwarchandra Bandyopadhyay (1820–1891)

Post by Joy Daschaudhuri »

Two proposals of stamps on social reformers and educationists Akshaykumar Datta (1820–1886) and Ishwarchandra Bandyopadhyay (1820–1891) on their birth bicentennial, have been submitted to DoP.

Given the upcoming assembly election in Pashchimbanga in May 2021, there will be flurry of stamps on Bangla in the coming days.

Got back from the phila bureau today. They didnt give me both UNESCO independence day AND teracotta temples miniatures.
Both has errors it seems ☹️
Also a friend in coimbatore said he got the teracotta stamps/sheetlet. No mini.
Any idea what the errors in Teracotta temples mini sheet are?
I got one UNESCO minisheet for me yesterday.
By the way, Goa has released a plasma related cancellation for 5 days given on all articles posted from Panaji G.P.O.

Also has anyone seen new UNESCO-3 stamps postally used?

The error is in the UNESCO stamps not the Teracotta. The mini sheet for teracotta seems to be in less numbers at this time hence the rumor that’s there’s a error?

0.11m Terracotta Temples of India MSs have been printed, which is the normal printing quantity of Indian MSs for last couple of years. 😶

Three years back I had bought Indian Cuisine miniature sheets for a school project via epost as at that time the bureau here was experiencing huge delay with every issue. However epost refunded money after a few days and I had to buy from a dealer.

It is not the first time that there have been delays in printing and delivering the miniature sheets by India Post. Recent example would be mini sheets on Solar system.

Also the bureau here has received terracotta temples MS. I personally have not heard about any errors in those.

I have no idea about the India–Suisse JI theme.

I can however list other aborted Joint Stamp Issue involving India.
  • India–Yisra'el
A set of 2 se-tenant stamps were planned in 2002 on the decennial of the establishment of the diplomatic relationship between the two countries.
  • India–Bulgarija
Stamps were planned to commemorate the quinquagennial of the diplomatic relationship in 2004 but the end result was only the release of a postal card by Bulgarija on Dec 2,2004 to mark the event.
  • India–ʻUmān
A set of 2 JI stamps on the quinquagennial of the diplomatic relationship was planned to be released in Apr 2005 but the issue was continuously postponed time and again. The JI was included in the India Post's Tentative Stamp Issue Program for 2006 but was never released by India.

I beg to differ. 'Never' is a bit harsh. I think private dealers are useful when it comes to filling gaps in our collection. How else are new collectors supposed to find old issues?
But yes, hoarding of stamps by dealers is a huge issue. Necessary evil i guess. 🤷

I agree for older issues but I believe newer ones we should still try to collect ourselves or through friends/collectors willing to arrange them for you.
e.g. epostoffice if functioning properly is a good source for majority of the MS going back to 2017-18 currently at face value

For the older ones as an example am looking for the below stamps (used preferably for commemorative ones) and the easiest source will be some dealer to help probably if I dont get them otherwise

Mint copies of Bhimsen Joshi and yoga stamps are available at G.P.O. here.
Ravi Shankar and Bismillah Khan are quite recent ones and may be available at Local P.O.s.

Gopinath Bardoloi, Rabindranath Tagore and Dr. A.P.J. Abdul Kalam stamps never reached G.P.O. or P.O. here. :(

The teracotta and unesco sheet sales have started in Kochi bureau. Some of my friends got it.

At least Israel issue materialized later. Bulgaria and Oman released diplomatic issue unilaterally.

I just have a theory that all unilateral diplomatic issues are failures of JI materializing.

Don't know whether this is the right thread to post my queries.

I'm coming back to the hobby after a long break of few years. Can someone help regarding from where I can get the missing years issues? If available in any GPO?

Secondly, I tried purchasing a few things from the epost site. Made payment by Paytm, money got deducted, but didn't go through. Any idea what to do?

Don't know whether this is the right thread to post my queries.

I'm coming back to the hobby after a long break of few years. Can someone help regarding from where I can get the missing years issues? If available in any GPO?

Secondly, I tried purchasing a few things from the epost site. Made payment by Paytm, money got deducted, but didn't go through. Any idea what to do?
Solely depends on what years are missing and whether you are looking for MNH or used or MS only

First checkpoint is to visit the GPO and pick up what you can from there, typically the oldest ones available will be from 2018 at max currently

If complete years are missing then buying year packs is the fastest way but dealers mostly will be your only hope. There are groups on FB selling year packs

Epostoffice seems to be having some issues. I too placed an order ten days back but no response whether the money will be refunded or items sent

Also there is a wanted section in stampboards, try posting your wantlist there too if you want

I’ve got a few used stamps (around 60-70 singles) from 1960s -1970s that I want to give away, as long as anyone pays the cost of mailing them.... but that will have to be after this whole pandemic 😊

May I ask them if someone else has not already?

Sure if no one else wants them - let me put up images of them up in a few days time, so you know what you’re getting 😀

I would love to have some if Hyderabadi doesn't mind sharing, since he has asked for it first.

Anybody looking to buy from epostoffice please wait for 10-15 days.
Got a call from them regarding my issue from last month and the person mentioned that due to their gateway changes multiple transactions were incomplete at their end even though the amount got deducted. The issue is almost resolved now but roughly 20% transactions still face the same issue and should be rectified in the next fortnight

thank you for the update. Did you get any information regarding what will happen regarding the orders where status is incomplete even though money was deducted?

They have started refund but it’s day by day and manual reconciliation by epost staff who then inform payu to refund so he told me to wait for 10 days for my refund

Today the Goa Philatelic and Numismatic Society in association with Goa Postal Department released a beautifully designed official special cover with a special golden cancellation on Donation of Convalescent Plasma Therapy.
Each cover is individually numbered at the back.

Yup. It is designed by the dynamic secretory of GPNS . It is the first special cover in Goa with a golden cancellation. First day of issue and there is demand from all over India. Prices have skyrocketed like anything. :shock

If you want one better get one now(Today's price was Rs.250 sold by some).
Can't imagine what the prices will be after few months.
One person was sold max. 3 covers and more than half the covers are already sold.
