Thanks for visiting . a member of ISJP.ORG since 1969 ... have assisted the "forgery project" from 1995 ... my outlook reflected in posts offers a new rationalization of koban imitations, or art repros ... woodblock, copper plate or photo-lithographs. hope you enjoy reading various topics presented over time ...

Recent imvestigtions have shown litho fakes derived from both KB4 and D11 underprints ... these are beyond the ISJP 2003 CD on forgeries. illustrations bear cancels as fakes ...

On spiro front, I have catalogued many botas on packet singles ... readers are urged to email unusual collection items for inspection .

Hello All-

I am new to not only the board, but to the hobby. After having over 600,000 baseball cards that I gave away 2 years ago to Habitat, I am now ready for a new hobby. I have not yet decided a starting point, but I ordered some back copies of the American Philatelist last night that had a specific baseball issue that I wanted. I think that might be a starting point as well as stamps that were issued in 1970. In any event, plan to hear from me and see me posting regularly as I like to learn and share along the way. Take care all and Happy THanksgiving to my American collectors!!

I reside in Massachusetts. I have collected stamps since 1946. (Before then I helped my older brother with his collection, but he lost interest and gave it to me.) My areas of specialization are (1) officially prepared perfins, (2) commercial advertising on stamps or on attached selvage/label, (3) issues from transportation companies, and (4) issues from local and private mail services.
At this time I am trying to trace down copies of "Australian States Official 'Perfins'. Specialist Catalogue", published by G & R Albums in Turramurra, NSW. I have a copy of the 2005 edition; there is a 2006 edition reported. Can anyone help?

Hello to MaryKrantz in Gleisdorf, Austria.

That was a generous decision to join Stampboards so you could post an answer to a member's question. We hope you'll find more topics to engage your interest and share comments or information with us.

Greetings from the UK. Been lurking for a while, and thought I'd put my head up over the parapet. Been collecting stamps on and off for nearly 50 years, since I was knee high to a grasshopper. My Uncle got me interested in stamps when I was about 6. His best mate worked in a post office, and he had access to getting stamps CTO'd and my collecting fad at the time was "gutter pairs". Also as a kid I used to write to all the philatelic bureaus around the world, and get them to send back info packs, which they'd send back in envelopes covered in their wonderful stamps. I can still remember the buzz as a 7 year old getting an envelope delivered from some far off country in the world.

Collecting habits have changed over the years, from GB gutter pairs, a massive thematic collection of Wild cats, (basically anything feline other than domestic). Edward VII Commonwealth definitives, to my current collecting interests. GB George VI and Elizabeth Wilding Cylinder blocks, and my main challenge, of recreating a sheet for every plate number of GB SG117, 1 shilling Green, (CDS's only). With 240 stamps per sheet and 4 plate numbers, that's a massive challenge, especially as I'm placing myself under a strict budget per stamp. Well 960 stamps aren't going to be cheap. :D

Hi everyone,

I first joined up here four years ago and I have finally decided to starting posting here.

My name is Joseph (Joe) and I have been collecting since I was a teenager in the 1960's.

I lived through the boom we had to have in late 1970's and done very well from it. (Thank God!!!)

My primary interest is in Australian & Territories Postal History (including usage, First Day and commerative covers)

I have been dealing with the late legendary Rod Perry since the late 1970's and he has steered and encouraged me to get into covers, for which I will forever indebted to him.

I have an extensive collection with many unique and rare items and I have been regularly adding to it through the trade and yes, even from ebay where I have bought many real bargains (some from dealers who should know better).

I look forward to posting in the future and sharing some of my finds.

Hello 1uenvy,

Your stamp is a worn-out 2d Wilding definitive stamp from the UK, first issued in the 1950s.
There are 3 variations of this stamp, each with a different watermark. Do see here: https://colnect.com/en/stamps/list/variant/1734.
Searching for musical instruments, Lions International, Rotary International, the sport of cricket, non-rectangular stamps, and PIGS. OINK!

Hi
My name is Rod, I live in Scotland. I have been collecting since I was a boy and my main interest is in Scandinavia, especially Denmark. I also collect Saudi Arabia as I lived there for 4 years and met my wife there. I also collect Saudi revenue stamps. My current quests are to complete my collection of Lokomotivpersonalets stamps from Denmark. They are charity stamps to raise money for the families of railway workers killed or injured at work. They were produced from 1914 to 1957. I also want to fill my last few gaps in the Saudi GOSP series (1960-1974) and find some Saudi fiscal rarities (like the 5g blue hospital tax stamp).
I should also apologise for posting a question first before I did this. I stand corrected
