Bill's Surplus GB Giveaway PART 5
Greetings again!
Another assortment of GB odds and ends to give away.
This time there are THREE prizes to choose from:
Prize 'A':
Mostly KG6. A selection of mint sets and some definitives, plus a bag of used GB small low values from all reigns. Also includes a nice mint KG5 1934 One Shilling. Prize 'B':
A small mint collection of sets from the Channel Islands and Isle of Man. Plus an IoM minisheet and some mint GB commems (not pictured - a surprise!)
Prize 'C':
Machins!!
A bag of a few hundred used QE2 Machins, hand-picked to include as many different colours, values and variations as possible. Very little duplication, with a range of high value Machins and castles. Love 'em or hate 'em?? HOW TO ENTER:
Below is a another picture of Prize 'C', the bag of Machins.
You need to guess the number of stamps in the pile - nearest guess wins. Simple as that.
Make your guess, then select which prize you prefer.
Nearest guess wins their first choice, second nearest gets their first choice, unless it's already gone and third closest gets what's left.
IF YOU'RE REALLY NOT INTERESTED IN ONE OF THE PRIZES, PLEASE LEAVE IT OUT OF YOUR ENTRY, and leave it for someone who might be.
Sample entry:
1. Prize B
2. Prize A
3. Prize C
Guess = 199
RULES:
You can enter ONCE for yourself and ONCE for a nominated Stampboards friend.
Entries open to all with over 20 posts AND member before 1st June 2022.
Entries close at 20:00 UK Time on Saturday 18th June.
So the question for all entries:-
How many stamps in the pile below?
(CLUE - The number you need is between 200 and 400)

Second closest was JKA whose preference was for Prize B (Channel Is. etc), so they also get their first choice.
Third closest was Ubobo R.O. for Sargonnas with 299, so Sargonnas will get the Machins, whether he likes it or not!
I will be writing to the winners to ask for addresses shortly, please check your email.

You are very welcome Danny, although I think - sooner you than me! They did come from a 'collection' of sorts, and although they were well scrambled by the time they reached me they did appear to be a wide variety of variants - not just your average kiloware. So have fun - if you call it that! (I guess we do, don't we?Sargonnas wrote: ↑23 Jun 2022 03:45 They have arrived!

Re: Bill's Surplus GB Giveaway PART 5
I think it is an unofficial 'Local', not issued by the IoM PO, but for carrying mail on the Island's tram service, which is a bit of a tourist attraction. (Note no Queen's Head) Tourist cinderellas, made to sell as souvenirs. I doubt they meet any legitimate mail need - someone has seen a gap in the market!
Likewise, there exist bogus 'locals' for the Calf of Man, a tiny uninhabited offshore island.
