In use from 1844 to approximately 1894, the numeral postmarks of Ireland are a rich area of study for postal historians. This long-awaited handbook is the result of 30 years of research by the author and brings together all that is currently known on the subject of ‘Irish Diamonds’.

will find this book a delight to use.” David MacDonnell

Irish postmarks are his "labour of love" and the book has taken time to be published in its current form.

He also wrote a section on Irish postmarks for the most recent edition of "Collect British Postmarks" produced by Stanley Gibbons.

Until recently he was the editor of "Irish Philately" the journal of the Irish Philatelic Circle which was quite time consuming.

Stan is currently recovering from an operation, and I am sure anyone who knows him will wish him a speedy recovery.
