Alan,

Sorry I don’t have that book.

Do you have any of Brian Peace’s various crash and other airmail books? Though I’m not sure they cover the Imperial Airways crash mail as it is very Australasian biased.

Worth having a look at his website (www.brianpeace.com) just in case.

Thanks, Ill have a look.
This is the cover I'm researching.
The description was "1936 UK-Sydney Airmail franked KGV 1/- & 3d, tied 'London 20 AUG 1936' pmk participant in the famed 'Desert incident' where 'Horsa' on Aug 29, during Imperial Airways flight IE473 (departed Aug 22),
overshot Bahrain Aerodrome by 100kms at night, as the airfield lights were not switched on! -pilots
becoming lost & making a forced landing in the desert, at Salwa Wells. The aircraft was found 40
hours later, & mail & passengers were flown out by RAF Mail to connect with IE474-75, the service
delayed five days. Only 2 covers from this major incident believed recorded to Australia, the other
also from GB, Sanford (Air Crash Mail of Imperial Airways & Predecessor Airlines) #360809. Ex Perry." (P)

What do you want to know about it? It was probably in that incident at Salwa Wells.

Brian Peace's books cover all crashes with an Australian or New Zealand connection. They are well researched and provide lots of details on the crashes and the covers & markings on them.

Watch eBay. Copies come up from time to time. I don't have any copies left.

I am glad to see you found a copy.

You should also order a copy of "Air Crash Mail of the World", which was published by the American Air Mail Society in April 2023. It completely updates the American Air Mail Catalogue crash section and the Nierinck crash cover catalog, and my Imperial Airways book. The cost is US$35.70 including airmail postage and PayPal payment to me email address - [email protected]. It is not a printed book. It is on a credit card size flash drive in both PDF and Word.

Cheers,

Ken
