WANTED - New Zealand 1874 First Side Faces DATED 1874

Post by RedKiwi »

I'm interested in buying NZ FSFs that have cancellations from 1874. Let me know if you have any and are interested in selling.

I think you'll have a lot more luck if you picture the ones you are after (per the rules)

nz_fsf.jpg
New Zealand 1874 Side Face Issue

(There's an awful lot that come a bit later, which are "close but no cigar").

Is it specifically this issue, used, with a clear 1874 postmark that you are after?

(Because that rules out the 2/- and 5/- value, which came later in 1878, but are still grouped in this series)

Is this the range you are seeking, with clear 1874 postmarks?

RedKiwi has decided none of our boring rules apply to him.

Lazy 2 word headings, no images, and now this absurdly vague heading that has been amended as he was too lazy to do so.

Thanks for responding, Viccy.

You are correct, that rules out the 2/- & 5/- from 1878. I'm specifically interested in clear cancels from the year 1874 of any of the initial issue of 6 denominations (1d, 2d, 3d, 4d, 6d, 1/-). A couple of examples below:

I have the above 2d dated FE 14 74. The postmark is the Wellington "070" duplex, and the date is later than that recorded in volume 7 of the RPSNZ handbooks.

Email me if interested craig1 {at} mail dot com

Im going through my fathers and grandfathers collection currently, have found some pages have become damaged through storage, so it may be best for me to find a better home for them with someone who can enjoy and love them as much as they did, i lost the bug years ago for stamps, mainly collect coins now, but there are many pre 1900's nz stamps, ill have a look and see if there are any of this series there, there are ALOT of stamps in the whole collection... standby for later responce

And I'm always keen on Great Barrier Pigeon Post and FFQ (especially the experimental separations) so if you have some, I'll be keen to look at those. Cheers!

Thank you, Lundy! Very thoughtful of you.

That is a nice early one. Looks like FE 18, 74.

I recently purchased one slightly earlier, though mine is irregular compound perf, not perf 12½ like the one on Delcampe. I'll contact the seller.
