Any information about this 60c red El Salvador Cinderella please?

Post by Rockyman44 »

Hello,

Does anyone have information on this El Salvador stamp which I cannot find in SG and I presume is some kind of Cinderella issue?

It’s an imperforate 60 centavos Airmail issue, printed by the Wright Bank Note Co., Philadelphia. Looks like something issued in the 1940s or 1950s; the postmark seems credible.

Searching on Google drew a blank on this one!

Many thanks!

It's not a cinderella, but a stamp from a 1946 miniature sheet: https://colnect.com/en/stamps/stamp/546272-400_Years_of_the_ ... l_Salvador

The perforated version is apparently listed as SG MS949a while the imperf one is likely unlisted.

Yes, found it now in SG - there was no illustration in the catalogue, which must be why I missed it.

Many thanks!
