Help identify this very large old stamp inscribed 'Kronings-zegel'?

We all have and handle these from time to time. "Back of book", Revenues, "Cinderellas", duty stamps and all kinds of other stamp like labels. Discuss them all HERE!

Dear forum users, help me identify the stamp. It’s a big beautiful stamp. Photos with and without flash.

Your opinion is very important to me.

This is a cinderella related to the coronation of Queen Wilhelmina of the Netherlands in 1898.

Ahoj Alex,

You were correct with 'stamp' in your first post. Stamp = Briefmarke. Brand = Handelsmarke like Volkswagen oder Nestle.

Cheers,

Honza

Google translate produces ‘brand’ in English for many languages; the problem is not with anybody but the English language which has so many different meanings for the one word!

I do love seeing these nineteenth century cinderellas :)

Many years ago I worked with a Dutch fellow who shared his birthday with Queen Wilhelmina. He had a younger brother who, when he and his older brother were very young, couldn't understand why the whole country put on a show on 31 August, but not for his own birthday

Ahoj Ian,

I think you have it the wrong way round.

The problem here is the multiplicity of meanings of Marke in German and some other Germanic languages not an intrinsic link between stamp and brand in English.
