I'll do some digging tomorrow and put some pics up. I see that Vance in Canada have the London Lord Mayor's set for C$75 in their upcoming auction. Glad I got my set for $10!

I'm having real trouble re-sizing these for some reason. If a mod could help, that'd be great!!

Waterlow did the Red Cross ones. Thus is Perkins Bacon's contribution

Just bought this pristine sheet for 6 pounds. It is truly inspirational. A face that launched a thousand stamp designs.Best 6 quid I've spent in a long long time. I know Sherro as already posted a similar image but what the heck here is mine.

They have been paid for and sent away months ago, sorry.

In the meantime, I have brought "Set C" of British high values back up to the
top, and reduced the price once again, from US $32 to US $30 postpaid.

Perhaps of interest to you? My best UK lot at the present time.

The Perkins sheets you show were printed 4 at a time them split into sheetlets of 4. On a great number of the sheets you can see traces of the cutting guide that appeared between the printings in one of the margins

I have the ones I posted above, as well as the sheets of 4 shown by tallanent a few posts up. I also have a similar type of engraved sheet from 1950 and a couple of later British stamp show souvenirs. Then there's a pair of stamps from a 1924 show....

Mike, Sherro,

I have the latest [2001] priced catalogue of British Stamp Exhibition material which covers all labels, sheets and cards. The prices given are 'market' prices.

The catalogue does not include Congress material but I know someone on the Congress Committee and will contact him if there is a desire for more info.

The two congress sheets posted by Mike a while ago are very hard to come by in good condition [without bends, gum cracks etc] so I was delighted at the recent Autumn Stampex in London to have picked the two up for a tenner ! B

oth were in pristine condition. :D They usually go for more than that in poor condition.

The Catalogue of British stamp Exhibitions was compiled by fellow NPS member Glenn Morgan together with Graham Wilson and is available on CD.

I would very much appreciate your help. :D

If you can give me values for the items in the posts which follow, I would be most appreciative. Does your catalogue give values for mounted vs unmounted?

Thanks!

For Ottawamike,

The two 1940 congress sheets are not listed in the catalogue as stated earlier, although I did manage to pick these up at Stampex for £10 in superb condition. However, I have seen them selling for more in poor condition on eBay and the like. I will be in touch with my Congress contact for more info.

The catalogue does not state if the prices are in MH or MNH condition so one can assume that MH before the war and MNH thereafter. I am assuming of course !!

The two Chalon portrait sheets from 1940 are listed at £10 each. I have seen them going for a bit less but most copies I have seen are not in the best condition. So condition will be a factor here.

In the 1990 StampWorld, London Exhibition, these two sheets were stuck down to one of the pages in the Show programme which sold for £10. So if they are 'on piece', this is the likely source.

The 1950 sheet is £1.50 in the catalogue.
The 1960 sheet is £1.00

The Scotex sheet is £1.50 but I have seen this one selling for quite a lot more on eBay as recently as a week ago. Worth checking.

The labels from the 1912 Jubilee International Stamp Exhibition are a bit problematic. One can find them as little as 10p each and as much as £15 each. This is what it says in the catalogue and it's true !!! I picked up a couple for 10p from a dealer in a fair in the UK recently but I think it all depends on colour, condition etc.

There are many colours, perfed,Imperfs, on card, different papers etc. A really interesting aspect of Exhibition collecting !!

Your pair appears to be Black or Grey-Black. What do you think the colour is. Those are the nearest according to the list I have but there are others. If I can help further, let me know.

If you plan on selling, exchanging the last lot, let me know.

I forgot to add that the prices were taken from the 1995 paper catalogue and not the more up-to-date CD version. This is because I cannot play any discs on my computer at present. Another [new] problem to go with the many others that I hope can be sorted this week. It is new as well !!!!

So the prices may differ slightly, but I am pretty sure , only slightly if at all. Most Exhibition labels and sheets have not gone up in value over the last years. I have been making comparisons for some time !!!!!

Sadly, con-men cut these out with a scalpel, and not showing the dates, and offer them singly on ebay as "from Grandpa's collection" etc.
