Insert Stampboards logo into eBay listing with HTML

Post by kennywkt »

I am sure there is a lot of members here don't know how to insert the StampBoards logo with link in your ebay lots, to Stampboards forum in HTML.

Inserting the Logo without link won't lead the visitors here! So here ya go.

Nice Job Kenny!!

I don't know how many listings are made with raw html (as mine are) or how many use one of the bulk listing programs, but those html inserts will certainly start to draw enormous attention to this site (if eBay allows the re-direct) and may very well begin to educate some of the "softer and fluffier" buyers to the more accurate listings!!

Kenny .. really useful stuff .. I have linked to this thread from 2 other threads ... we'll easily get to our target 1800 members by our first Birthday April 1 with these great little things in place!

I hope all members who are ebay sellers consider adding an approved size logo to their ebay listings template, their "About Me" page, and on their emailed ebay invoices etc.

Or even just a text line saying something like - "stampboards.com - where philatelists all over the world meet to discuss stamps"

Re: Insert StampBoard logo to eBay listing with HTML

Post by Berlin-Gus »

Here is an idea and it may have been tried. I would like to produce a "post card" to be handed out at our Stamp Club to promote the Stampboards.com as a forum for collectors.

Is it permissible to use any of the artwork on this thread to use in printed media such as I am suggesting. Is there a copyright problem one needs to be aware of.

For the design I am thinking of Logo and a catchy phrase with web-address on the photo side of the card. On the reverse, in the left panel, some quick points, drawing attention, to some of the exciting things on Stampboards.com, perhaps some of the major threads. The card would look like a post card and could be mailed to an interesting party.

When completed I could make available a pdf file to anyone wishing to promote Stampboards at their club. You would simply take the pdf file to a local quick printer and get some printed up, or you could print the file on your inkjet printer.

All thoughts and comments on this idea would be appreciated.

Berlin-Gus .. go right ahead!

Love the support. If you use VistaPrint you wil get them free in full colour, and the logo we have above to use for one side. :)

Just to add a note to Glen's previous post, can I suggest that any member wanting to use the Stampboards logo may do so, providing the original artwork is unaltered in any aspect of the design.

Upscaling and downscaling (without changing the proportions) are absolutely fine, but the detail and text should NOT be altered in any way.

Can I suggest if it's possible for a mod to remove the "work-in-progress" codes so we're left with just the final final final codes by Kenny.

I've added them into my eBay listings, however the first time when I came back to the thread and scrolled down I copied the 3rd lot of codes posted, which after adding it in to my listings I discovered didn't work in IE but did on my wifes Firefox. Then I realised I'd copied the wrong codes and had to do it all over. It's working fine now :)

It's confusing having 4 posts with codes, the first 3 which shouldn't be used. So is it possible to just leave the one list of correct codes?

Thanks (and thanks to Kenny as well for such an excellent job.)

Balf - I understand none of this techno coding stuff.

Can you hit "quote" on Kenny's post, remove what wording is NOT needed, and hit submit and we'll have the correct stuff to use and I will then paste that in post 1.

Using the "Preview" button first is always smart!

Thanks!

Thanks Glen, yes that's all good. Makes the thread much tidier and no confusion.

Maybe you should make it a sticky so that it stays where people can see it?

I have been running the logo in my listings for a short time.

This is what the page looks like: (I have been having a play with snagit)

The stampboards logo link is active in the listing (takes you to stampboards in a new window)
